oh dear… and i am the only palmistry and tarot even though there are shops that sell items related to and using those words.
Can i ask did this start on 1st April ? Do you think it was an April fools joke that went terribly wrong

It’s a bit bonkers isn’t it! If it is an April fools I think we’re over it now
Just searched Tarot and there are six shops now
Oh 6 now…did you search under shops or items, when i did it under the shop search there was on mine
Just had another look sorry yes there are 6 shops now…strange ! Still includes mine lol
There may be six but you’re is the best. There’s one that doesn’t seem to sell anything apart from 1 jumper
Can you imagine being a visitor to the site,
You want to buy tarot related gifts and are presented with a teddy bear shop and a sweater lol
You wouldn’t do much shopping and probably wouldn’t bother again
I thought at first look last night we might be slowly getting somewhere but now I dont think we are.
I know, it’s disappointing how long it’s taking.
I don’t think Doug works at the weekend except in emergencies
I think I was being too optimistic customers might not be able to find my daisies but they’ll be okay if they want an ex- nurse
Lol… you might actually get a few male takers, boost sales
I’ve taken that paragraph out of my about section now so at least I won’t show up in the wrong category
Hopefully you’ll be able to reinstate it once it’s all sorted!
Wouldn’t we consider this to be an emergency…?!
I searched coaster sets, hanging hearts and lamps yesterday and they all seemed to give sensible results so I was hopeful that it had been tweaked and improved a bit.
My search for rabbits brings up almost one entire shop, i know because i checked who the items were from, at least 5 pages out of the 7, I make rabbits but none show in the results, if the shop names were displayed it would have been easy to spot.
I had thought perhaps it might be improving slightly, some of my bears were picked up whilst searching teddy bears which didnt’t show the day before.
Hopefully it will continue to improve, glad to hear some results were good ones.
i won’t bother Hilary, will just keep business related stuff on there now.
Well yes we would but do Folksy… I suspect not after all it is our sales which are potentially affected not theirs ..as you say earlier any commission they get from us is a bonus
And of course there is now the bug to the other software change which secretly crept into the system which needs sorting out.. the 'You just missed it 'feature which is surely not behaving as specified
I was thinking of adding all sorts of words to my about me, a big long string of anything anyone might be looking for if they searched for a shop. Crochet, sewing, embrodery, knitting, ceramics, photography, leather, patchwork, jewellery… I’ve done them all. Could even add that I never do paper craft …At least my shop would appear if anyone searched those words even if with a top chopped off stained glass Australia…
Let’s all do some good ol’ keyword stuffing in our About Me sections - excellent idea!
Oh I never thought about that, I will add another paragraph to my about section…ah however
my about section talks about the bears yet they wern’t being picked up until last night…might have gone again now so it’s not consistent, going to add some words though .
Yes shop name should definitely be shown on every listing. Folksy is a marketplace, so it’s like an online shopping arcade. If you went to a bricks & mortar arcade, it would be very odd if the individual shops didn’t have anything to identify them.
Also, from a seller’s point of view, after all the trouble and expense of paying for Folksy Plus, advertising and bringing customers to our shops, it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth if there’s nothing to identify us when someone is looking at a list of items on the home screens, gift guides and search results. They are not buying from Folksy, but from individual businesses under the Folksy umbrella. We should be identified at all points, so that customers know who they are dealing with.
