Healthy eating 2017

Not very well, I’m eating healthy most of the time but seem to have developed ‘middle aged spread’ my waist is still a size 14 but the bit above my waist is definitely bigger :frowning:

I clearly thought as Id lost a bit of weight I could go back to eating what I wanted. Oops.
I weigh the most Ive ever weighed, I have smashed the glass to the emergency salad.

I’m not doing very well either. I was dreading putting the summer trousers on- luckily the size 16s still feel very baggy but haven’t tried the 14s yet.
Last night at local pub didn’t help- had veggie burger and chips and a chocolate mint creation for afters.

I hate my scales as they say Im 13 stone( the heaviest ever) yet Im still doing my belt up at a smaller size!! Whats going on there then?!
Do you trust your scales or judge by your clothes being baggy?

Muscle is denser than fat (fat takes up 16% more volume than muscle for the same weight) so if you are working out then you could be swapping fat for muscle thus decreasing your size/ volume but increasing your weight. Alternatively a change in diet could mean that you aren’t suffering from as much bloating in your middle so your belt is getting smaller but you are putting weight onto your hips/ thighs. Baggy clothes could simply be the elastic giving up. I go by how fit I feel.

We’re going on holiday to Cornwall for 2 weeks this Saturday so healthy eating might be out of the window until the middle of July :icecream::cake::cocktail:
