Hi
First time ever someone contacted me to say they hadn’t meant to buy an item and they want me to cancel the order. They have paid by paypal… how do I sort this out can anyone help and please tell me its not some kind of scam… I’m not sure how you can pay for something not meaning to ???
I am not very knowledgable about scams, I always feel quite safe with Paypal but if you have any doubts at all, it would be a good idea to tell Folksy. You will need to contact them anyway to cancel the order, so do that first.
I’m sorry not to be more help but thought I would bump up your post so that perhaps someone more knowledgable will be along to help!
Its possible to have items from multiple shops in your basket and then check out for all of them rather than just the shop you wanted to check out whilst you think further on the other items in your basket (using the basket as a bit of a wish list rather than a stuff to buy now basket if you get my meaning).
Go into your paypal account and do a refund from there and then email Folksy to cancel the order (and they will remove their fees from your bill).
Hi Thanks so much xx
Thanks so much just doing this now… xxx
Remember you won’t get your Paypal fees back so depending how much the order is, you will end up out of pocket.
Remember that the same cancellation procedure applies for any order the customer wants to cancel. Because we are selling on line every customer has an automatic right to request a full refund, including postage if they decide they, for some reason don’t want what they have purchased, to return the item purchased, in the condition it was sent.
Also note that if you are cancelling an order paid via Stripe it can take several days for the money to actually get back to the customer so you might need to make them aware of this. If you refund within the same calendar day it seems to be refunded straight away so always a good idea if possible to do the refund that day. I always try to do this when doing a partial refund for excess postage.
