Morning Marco - go into “my accounts” and search down the left hand menu until you find “card payments” - at the top of the Shop Settings list. This is where you set up your account with stripe - if you have any difficulties you can always contact folksy support - they’re always brilliantly helpful - email - support@folksy.co.uk
hi, i tried, but it doesn’t let me set anything else, it only gives me stripe. i’ll try to contact support
no this is not my shop, but another seller’s. My shop when I go to pay only gives me a screen the one I provide you in the photo. as you can see they are different, the other seller has many options, I don’t
yes, i took the image of another store and it has links to all the other payment methods. In my payment page instead it has only one type. help i attach a photo of my payment page
Hi Marco, the photo you are showing here is the checkout page you see if you are purchasing something from ‘Wild Iris’ shop. This shop only offers PayPal, so you would be unable to pay using a credit card via Stripe. You would have to pay via Paypal if you want to buy something from this shop.
However, as @HelenCliffordArt shows, your own shop is already offering both methods of payment for your own customers. I understood it that your customer paid via Stripe, so it must be working OK.
So I think everything is OK, there is nothing more that you can offer your customers.
Stripe is the system for people who want to pay by card. There are only two systems - PayPal and stripe so everything seems to be set up for you.
no you are wrong, my shop does not offer all payment methods, my shop only offers this one as shown in the photo, while the other seller offers many methods
Hi, maybe it’s me who doesn’t speak and write English well, so I’ll try to make myself understood better. Photo number 1 is from another seller, as you can see he has many payment methods. Photo number 2 is my payment page, as you can see I only have paypal and nothing else. How can I add other types of payments?
The image above is from another seller
The image above is mine
I have just checked and your shop definitely offered me both types of payment.
I’m also fairly certain that the second image you show is when you are trying to buy from another seller. It has the shop name on it.
Your shop (Marco Creations) has the other payment types
the top option where it says your credit or debit card is the stripe payment system.
Do you have a second shop? The image I’ve attached is for Marco Creations as can be seen by what is in the basket.
edited it to add: if you have items from multiple shops in your basket then paypal is the only check out/ payment option even if the shops are set up for stripe.
ummmm strange I tried to buy on my site as a guest and it doesn’t give me many payment preferences. I can’t figure it out now even from different methods. The solution could be that I followed the advice of a seller and contacted support, so I did and the only solution is that they fixed it because before only paypal appeared as payment. That’s fine, better this way, thanks
“The image above is mine” - actually shows a shop called Wild Iris with Rae - the name is at the bottom of your screenshot. Is that a second shop you have?
When you say other sellers have “many options” - there are only two options for paying for a purchase on Folksy - PayPal and stripe.
Stripe is used to make a payment by card - whether it’s Mastercard, visa, discover or American Express - as they are pictured in your photo one against the top button - above the PayPal button. So I wonder if you are misunderstanding what stripe is for - one system which a customer can use to pay by any debit or credit card.
It can be very confusing
Glad it is sorted
Think I’ve figured out some of this. In the screen shot you show we can see the name ‘wild iris by rae’ but you are saying it is for your shop. If I put items from both wild iris by rae and marco creations into a basket I get…
Paypal is the only option as it is for multiple shops (basket totals and shipping costs match what was in your screen shots). If I remove the item from the other shop this is what my basket ends up looking like
the stripe option has reappear as the check out is for a single shop. Your shop definitely has the option for customers to pay with a credit/ debit card (stripe).
Folksy needs to make it clear on the payment page that PayPal also allows customers to pay with their credit and debit cards.
I do not have Stripe and have no intention of getting it because I have a Square account. However, I am probably losing sales because customers don’t know that PayPal also allows them to pay with their card.
@Folksyadmin - can this be changed please.
Hi everyone,
thanks to all of your information, I was able to solve my previous issue: it turned out I had two items in my cart.
Now, however, I have another problem, and this time it’s confirmed. Someone contacted me on Facebook about some of my boxes and decided to buy one. I told her to go to my website (this one) and choose how she wanted to pay, either through PayPal or other methods. She made the payment, and I have photographic proof that she did it via PayPal, about two hours ago.
However, as of now, I haven’t received any payment in my account. I’m wondering if it’s a similar situation to before, where I need to wait 4/5 days for the money to appear in my account?
Another question: when a customer pays through PayPal, does the payment go to the email address I’ve linked to PayPal on the site?
Thanks everyone for your help!
If you log in to your paypal account do you see the money there? Is the sale showing on your folksy dashboard? Unfortunately it is a known scam for people to send fake screenshots of paypal transactions claiming to have sent money when they haven’t.
ok that’s what I thought, but the photo you sent seemed so original
