How did the Beautiful Bundles event go for you?

Hi everyone. How did the event go for you this weekend? Did you feel you got something out of it?

Were you pleased or disappointed with your sales? How about your social channels - do you feel you reached any new customers and how did your existing customers engage with the event? What seemed to be your most popular product bundles in terms of views, reactions and sales?

Were the templates we put together useful - did they make promotion easier for you? If you sent out a marketing email to your subscribers, did you get a good number of click throughs?

It would be really useful to us to get your feedback, if you have time. Thank you!

I thought the templates were very useful indeed, I think a lot of sellers must have agreed because I saw so many used this week. A quick and easy way of making a professional looking, eye-catching post. I felt there was a lot more interaction on social media, thanks everyone who was good enough to share and comment on my posts, I tried to do the same for others and my FB reach has increased after weeks of going down!

I made a sale on Saturday morning, not a bundle (although it was two items!) but very pleased!

I’d love to see another Bundles event perhaps in November when people are thinking about gift sets, stocking fillers and Secret Santas.

I didn’t have a lot of time in the runup to the event but I did try to add a few new bundles and share a few posts on social media. Was pleasantly surprised to get a couple of sales, very welcome, I’m hoping to be able to keep the momentum going a bit now. (The item that was featured in one of Folksy’s posts was one of the ones that sold, so thank you for that, it definitely worked!) My stats are way too sparse to be able to give you any meaningful feedback on best sellers or anything like that. The tag ‘beautiful bundles’ got a whole 2 (TWO) search clicks. Most of the items with views in double figures in my stats (the most viewed item got 16 views over the 7 day stats window) were ‘beautiful bundles’ but that may just have been because they were new listings. Anyway the event was good, it was great to see so many Folksy-branded posts on my social feeds and I hope it went well for everyone else who took part. And yes please, another similar event in the runup to Christmas would definitely be worth a try!

I have really enjoyed getting involved in the event. The templates were brilliant at enabling us all to show case our items, I shared quite a few on insta and in stories.

I made 2 sales, 1 bundles, 1 normal. I would have liked more but I’m also really pleased to have got 2 sales.

My shop visits had a significant rise in numbers over the weekend and I had 6 search clicks for beautiful bundles.

I would love more regular events like this, summer, Halloween, Christmas as well as the Sunday seconds. It brought out the community feeling that so many sellers like about Folksy.

Thank you for putting this on

Morning,

Like others I loved the templates - makes it easy to get professional, eye catching posts & I think it does help to promote Folksy when you see so many posts with a similar look!

I didn’t get any sales but I think it did potentially increase my likes on social media. Unfortunately we were away the week before & on the Saturday so I think I didn’t get as much out of it as I could have if I’d been more focused on my shop in the lead up!

As others have mentioned similar events in the lead up to big holiday’s would be good,

Cheers Lou

I thought there were some really well-thought out ‘bundles’ and the collections looked very attractive.

I was very rushed and disorganized before the event so probably didn’t make the most of the opportunity. I think the ideas pretty sound and next time will try to get more involved. I had two search clicks relating to the event so it was all working fine. Since putting my shop on holiday mode for a couple of weeks sales are very much in the doldrums - but hopefully I will be able to turn this round and get more traction in the run up to Christmas and for future events. (I also need to have a major re-haul in terms of shop contents, appearance etc. to address the low sales.) The templates were useful and attractive. Overall these events get the thumbs up from me.

The templates were certainly useful and I found the ones with the information in the corners/edges worked best with my images.

Happy to say I got a sale, although of something I normally have sold as a set anyway rather than one specially created for the event, so the extra promotion will have helped there. A retweet from the right person really increased my reach and clicks on one particular post.

Because of that, one bundle definitely had more views than the others, but in general they all had more views than my other items, not just the ones that used the sale price feature.

I only had a couple of search clicks on “beautiful bundle” too, but that will have been people who entered it into the search bar. Most people shopping would probably have just browsed the beautiful bundles page instead, which would show up as “folksy.com” under sources in item visits, which does look higher for me than it has been recently (as well as more direct views which hopefully might have included some app clicks from my social media posts).

I know a lot of people have been away or out enjoying the good weather this weekend too, so I did expect might not have been as many people stuck to their screens as there would be on a miserable rainy weekend.

Although I didn’t sell a bundle I definitely saw more traffic to my items, and my shop was favourited by a good number of customers.

I enjoyed the event as a seller and a customer, so all good overall I think :+1:

I sold 2 bundles to the same customer, who also bought 2 other items, so I am pleased, and that made it worth it for me.
I liked the templates. They looked professional, and gave uniformity to our promotion. I also felt there was a nice pull together with the Folksy Community. The current threads about promoting Folksy and the like seemed to help in prompting us to spread the word.
My item visit numbers were up, with my 3 bundles getting the highest visits. However, I got no beautiful bundles in my search clicks. I would do another such event if my work fits. It makes the plus option seem a more attractive option now.

I loved the templates, thought they were really eye-catching on social media and helped bring all the posts together as part of a Folksy Event. I definitely thought they made my own posts look more professional.
Thank you for running the event, and for providing the templates.
No sales for me, sadly, but I have decided to keep the bundles as a ‘jewellery sets’ category in my shop, as I think they look good, but were quite time-consuming to be used for just 2 days.
Would it be possible to have a proper ‘jewellery sets’ category? At the moment it is a sub-category under necklaces, and is quite hard to find.

I made a sale…so I am happy with it…maybe something similar on a regular basis would be good x
Thank you admin for doing this xx

We had 2 sales which we were pleased about, one from another folksy seller from the thread and the other from an existing customer. We used the tag beautiful bundle and beautiful bundles in case people used different search. The templates were good. We tried to promote other sellers work and felt positive about being part of a collective event. I still feel that the sales we get are driven by ourselves only, we don’t see any evidence of folksy outside of the folksy Facebook page we belong to or occasional other sellers promoting their work. I wish folksy was pushed to a much wider audience. I have read so many post where traders and customers are dissatisfied with the other big platform; costs to sellers and buyers buying something they thought was handmade to discover it was from China.
Folksy should be a real contender snd much more of a household name.
Would love to be part of more events
Thank you

I enjoyed browsing the event and placed a couple of orders from other sellers on Folksy that I might not have seen normally.
I was last minute, only realised the day before that I could bundle my kits and patterns together, I didnt make any sales from the bundles but I am keeping them in my shop so it has filled it up a little. I wouldn’t have thought of bundling them together had it not been for this event so it has been worthwhile even though they didnt sell over the weekend. I tried to share other sellers as well and made some collage boards for IG/FB , i didn’t use the templates, I was running out of time to look so just made my own.
I diďn’t get any engagement from my regular customers over the bundles but they are all very definately bear collectors not makers, I tend to sell most of my kits to new customers or customers who have already bought one but rarely to my Bear followers.

Oh, and as people are mentioning future events - I think something like 3-4 times a year would work well, but if it were more regular than that I wouldn’t likely have time to take part and promote for them all so would just pick a few a year to do (which if everyone did the same would mean less impact as the promoting is more thinly spread). As @GlintBeads mentioned, it can be a lot of work for 2 days, which as an occasional thing is ok, but if it were monthly regular it could soon become overwhelming (I imagine for me and my followers ).

For me the second Seconds Sunday, which was only 3 months after the first, certainly didn’t do as well as the first had. It felt a bit soon as people had already seen a lot of the offers fairly recently so it was a bit repetitive and didn’t have as much excitement to see what was there. Because of that, I’d definitely like to see variety to the events (even if it means it’s not always relevant to what I sell) so what’s likely to be included will change from one to another, eventually repeating but with long enough between they’ll have some different things and can build up excitement again.

I agree, 3 or 4 times a year, with a different theme each time, maybe repeating the successful ones after that, would be ideal. More often & it would be too much work.

Yes i agree with @konyskiw I definately wouldn’t have the time to do regular events and again I think people would get bored with it if they were too often. I think quarterly is enough to hold a weekend event.
Thinking on… perhaps a discount weekend, 10% off when buying 2 or more items from a shop, those shops that would like to take part just need to add a discount code for the days it is live.
Sharing on Folksy would be a nightmare as there would potentially be thousands of items so perhaps Folksy could just share the shop fronts or a list of those shops taking part in the event.

I agree with everyone elses comments. The event brought the Folksy community together to support and promote each other. I think the threads on improving SM reach and getting Folksy better known played a big part in this too, and the Canva templates definitely helped give the overall event a professional and cohesive look on SM.
My Plus membership had just ended but I still joined in with my bundles and promoting the event. There were so many more posts in my IG feed than normal although some were late into Sunday evening.
I also think 4 different events a year is about right.
I did get 2 searches for beautiful bundles, but nothing much different in shop or item visits

I am glad I took part in the event, it made me think outside the box in regard to my own cards/tags/gift wallets and about how I could potentially make them more saleable. Also playing a part on SM, to help drive people towards Folksy can only be a good thing.

Looking at my stats, 8 of my 9 little beautiful bundles each achieved several item visits, which was good. However, sadly no resulting sales. Regarding search clicks, nothing showed up for ‘beautiful bundles’ in my stats.

Unfortunately neither this beautiful bundles event nor the previous seconds sunday event, which I took part in, resulted in any sales for me. The beautiful bundles event, in particular, I felt was a lot of work for 2 days. The additional photography, new listing or editing of existing listings etc. really added up time wise. What with family and other commitments, this unfortunately left me with no time to make and list anything new last week.

I love Debby’s idea @bearlescent of a site wide discount weekend event. This would appeal to me more to be honest. Perhaps something like … 10% off site wide this weekend * excludes some shops… From a Folksy Admin point of view, would an “Opt Out” rather than “Opt In” for shops, work in this case. The default could be everyone is part of this event, unless they Opt Out. Apologies in advance, as I am not one bit tech savvy and that might not be possible!! Just an idea! Also, maybe a short limited time Ad Campaign of some sort, (rather than just SM promotion) would be possible during a discount event like this.

BTW, well done to all those who made sales during the event, well done x

I felt the same Jean @SeaPinkCards hence the reason i have left my bundles as listings in my shop (not sure how long for maybe permanent) although I will lose money on sales so might have to change the prices slightly. Photographing, relisting, editing photos and then using adobe to make cut out photos for the event was a lot of work for 2 days so think we need something that can be used using existing photos and listings next time. Still enjoyable though.
