How to connect your Folksy shop to Instagram Shopping

I’ll give that a try since I had the same result as SallyAnn @thegreetingscardshop

Hi SallyAnn @thegreetingscardshop, I’ve also stopped trying to be accepted for selling with Instagram. I also have a Facebook shop but haven’t begun stocking it yet. I hope your shop is working well. Heather

It’s all very odd. I connected it all. Following the instructions from the blog. Complete nightmare! It now says, download error. All my 137 items have not downloaded. Yet if I tag my items on ig, it shows in my ig shop. But I have to tag them to be visible first. Something isn’t right somewhere. I’ve kind of given up with fb.

OK I don’t have an Instagram account but just wanted to link my folksy shop to my FB shop. I have followed the steps to create a catalogue and this has worked except it is showing that all my items are out of stock on my FB page therefore not linking to my Folksy page. Help what have I done wrong?
I have changed the category to shopping and retail and updated my page settings etc. removed previous stock, refreshed, I can’t think what else I can do.

I’ve just looked at you fb shop and everything looks ok and takes me to your folksy shop.

Hi the link from my shop page doesn’t link eg when I click on a product.

It works for me. When I click on one of your products, it shows me a page about the product, with a big blue button saying ‘checkout on website’ which takes me to the Folksy listing.

That’s what i see too

I thought I had connected everything up because it said my application was being considered - but that was the last I heard. That was a week ago. What do I have to do now?
I don’t even understand how it works. I’ve tried clicking on pictures on the Instagram accounts of most of the people in this thread and nothing happens. How do you even shop for other people’s things?
Just tried it with Marks and Spencer and that worked.

I had a reply from Instagram within about four hours although they do say their decision can take a few working days. My application was rejected but I understand that’s happened to a lot of people.

Sometimes they forget to let you know that you’ve been approved and you have to go and check in your settings!
When I look at posts with products tagged in them there is a little shopping bag icon bottom left corner of the image and if i tap the image the product title appears. If i tap it again it brings up a new screen which has a ‘view on website’ button and if i tap on that it takes me to the listing on folksy. If the product hasn’t been tagged then it doesn’t work.

I set up my link from Folksy to FB no problem, but when I applied for approval from IG, I got the message Established Instagram presence required.

I’m assuming that as I have only just setup my IG a few days ago I need to wait a while and try again. Anyone know how long?

I followed the instructions from Folksy and gave up in the end although I did succeed with the Facebook shop just couldn’t connect to Instagram at all. Last week I followed the link that you gave and worked through that but still no joy until one final go on Friday seemed to be successful and I got the message about being reviewed. I have now had a message saying it is nearly ready but I need to verify my domain with Folksy. I followed the link but came unstuck as I haven’t a clue what it means - HTLM and DNS TXT and meta tags mean nothing to me. Any suggestions?

Sorry not a clue - I’d email support@folksy.com with all the details/ error message - someone else might have had the issue and hopefully they’ve worked out a solution.

Hi, I’m stuck at the same point (since 13/7/2020) - FB need to verify that I own the domain www.folksy.com, which obviously I don’t - I also see the bit that talks about HTLM and DNS TXT and meta tags on the same page as it says verification pending - all seem to be related to a person owning the website domain though. I have emailed Folksy support but their reply was that no-one else has had this problem and that it may be because Instagram hasn’t approved my account yet and that it could take a week or so. Fingers crossed that is the case!

I’m glad I’m not on my own with this problem. I’ve just been looking through the help sections on Business manager, Instagram an Facebook but can’t find anything that can offer a solution. I emailed Folksy and had the same response. If you find a solution please let me know and I will do the same.

Hi, I’m Alison by the way. I’ve messaged Instagram through their “report a problem” section to see if they can help. I do wonder if its because we are the only 2 (that we know of) who have been asked to verify their website domain. I’ll also message Facebook in a couple of days through Business Manager. There must be a lot of people who use Instagram shopping who are on Folksy or other selling platforms who have connected their shop successfully so I’m very curious as to why it isn’t straightforward for us!

Hi all, I am having the same problem, now I need to verify the domain with Folksy which I don’t own. So not sure what to do…

As far as I can see the problem is with using commerce manager. However when I try to connect through catalog manager I’m told I have been rejected but no explanation as to why. I’ve given up trying to work it out for now and hoping Alison @MorriaJewellery gets a reply from reporting it
