OK I’ve done it, just joined instagram, I think I’ve found everyone on this thread except @RhiannonRoseJewellery, I couldn’t find which one you were in the long list that came up.
I’ve used my own name rather than my shop name as I’ve been thinking of changing that so it saves confusion.
I’m the same, I wanted to join but it said I had to download an app, my pc is fairly old, not sure if it would work.
I have followed you.
Think I’m addicted. It’s lovely looking at all the beautiful things and I managed to find a few things I’m into. Love it.
Instagram is loads of fun! I’m on at @shirleyrainbow_tb
I’ll try and find you too x
You found me first. Was going to have a look for you and.then it popped up saying you were following me.
I’m on instagram www.instagram.com/woollypop
I started it a few months ago. You only post what you want people to see. It helps to search for users in your field to follow (mine is crochet) so I just typed that into the search also handmade, crafts etc then follow as many people as you like hopefully they follow you back.
Hashtags are key here the more hashtags the more visibility images get so make sure your pics are tagged to the max.
As with any social media it takes some building up but hopefully it’ll help.
hope this helps x
I am putting #tags on,my items but I may add afew more.
Some of my items haven’t got many.
I’m now going to start following you.
get them ####### on lol oooh also forgot to say the apps best on your phone (well for me I’m too poor to own anything like an ipad
) also because followers like to get to know you and its great for posting works in progress
Hello
I am on Instagram and find it amazing. I have somehow amassed over 4000 followers. It is great fun and good way to chat with customers and have a good old nose. I am https://instagram.com/handcraftedlove/ Enjoy
Haley
A few more for me to follow (when my phone finishes charging) I like the idea of posting works in progress as a ‘teaser’ to keep people looking
I haven’t posted much yet (we’re going on our hols this weekend the only things I’m creating at the moment are piles of clothes to pack!)
I never even thought to put work in progress on.
May have to tidy my table before photographing anything like that.
It’s a mess at the moment
There are some great hashtags you can use on Instagram to share your work. The idea is that by using the tags, more people have a chance to see your posts (and you can find other people to follow too). Some of the tags also double up as competitions, so by adding the tag to your photo you have a chance to win a prize and/or see your picture posted on the originator’s stream.
The ones we use are:
pictures of your work in progress: #folksywip
pictures of your studio: #folksywip
pictures of things you’ve bought from other Folksy sellers: #myfolksy
If you post your pics on those, we quite often share them on our feed too.
There are also great ones like:
Run by specific Instagrammers:
mymonthofsundays
stylingtheseasons
natureinthehome
theeverydayspruce
liveauthentic
wherethewildkidsare
Generic Instagram tags:
widn (what I’m doing now)
onefromthecuttingroomfloor (an older picture you haven’t posted before)
childhoodunplugged (children having fun, unplugged from technology!)
tbt (throwback Thursday)
fbf (flashback Friday)
Does anyone have any other hashtags that they use?
Thankyou. That’s very helpful. I have been putting folksy as a hashing I’ll have to change it to myfolksy.
I use #folky #lovehandmade
But I.G is more enjoyable for me than facebook. But I try not to over post, which can be hard!
My previous message was in enormous bold text for some unknown reason. But I was trying to say that the game what im doing now which is #widn is a good excuse to show work in progress.
H
That’s a good idea showing work in progress but I would have to really tidy up first.,I have beads everywhere
I’ve started Instagramming too, I’m finding it quite useful, some of my images get more interaction there than via Facebook, although it has also directed a few people from Instagram to Facebook which is good. I use my iPod and save photos that I upload to Facebook for it so it’s a bit of a ffaff but it’s worth it.
I’ll see if I can follow people via the computer, but if I get confused, I’ll follow anyone who follows me back.
I’m ‘twinkleandgloom’ https://instagram.com/twinkleandgloom
I started following you
I put pictures of my work and pics that I see when I’m out and about (widn!). I’m followed by a few on this thread already - THANK YOU !! More welcome!
I’ve just joined Instagram too. I think it’s going to be quite addictive. I think my link is @cardjeanie. Can somebody check it and let me know if that’s correct please??? I’m still learning!!!
Jeanie x
