Issues with loading photo's

I would love for this to be fixed. Actually I’d really like to be able to upload more than one photo at a time… it would save such a lot of scrolling and faff… but I’d settle for one at a time if I didn’t have to do each one several times before I stopped getting the red ‘error’ thing!

I second And third that sentiment

I’m having the same problem. I find if I leave a few extra seconds between each photo upload I seem to having fewer of the dreaded red circles.

Tagging @dougfolksy again to make sure he see this.

I find that the red error symbol gets displayed when you try to double click too quickly on an image. If you do it more slowly it seems to work better. Clearly a fault with Folksy but if you single click on the image you want to upload, wait a few seconds before clicking on the open button, it seems to work better. If I just double click on the image, it often won’t load.

The red error symbol displays when I click once…no double clicking required. I am quite an experienced clicker  and it is nothing to do with how I click. As I know that currently I will get the error on at least one and often two of the photos I load per listing I am the soul of patience and click each box slowly and just once.
I expect it is most likely to do with the fact that someone else happens to be clicking or busy on the system at the same time.

Same issue, if you redo it about 3x it will eventually take the photo

It’s constant. @dougfolksy are you uploading in to a DB or file system?

Replying to my own message

Console shows this error when an image doesn’t upload:

Access to XMLHttpRequest at ‘https://imagesapi.folksy.com/1084892/SAHbKxLTFiXIbYrcvhaWpi36IsI-Q-N’ from origin ‘https://folksy.com’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource.

I’m still on the basic plan as my shop is very new. I love almost everything about Folksy BUT the constant issues with photo uploading are the main thing preventing me from subscribing to a Plus account. I try to limit each listing to three or four photos and I simply can’t imagine trying to upload ten, as pretty much every one needs multiple attempts and it is a massive waste of time having to upload each one separately anyway! Please, please, if anything can be done about this, please fix it.

I’ll second that. Drives me nutty especially as I often load new listings and photos late in the evening when I should be in bed !

This is driving me nuts. I can’t upload any photos. Not good. Please get it sorted.

I sent Doug some specific timings of one occasion i was having a bad problem. Thought he could check the logs so see what was going on at that point in time. Might be a good idea. Via Support message.

We are currently in the process of making changes to our image service, which should help stop this problem, but I’m afraid I’m not sure when we expect that to be completed yet.

If you’re getting problems separate to the usual image error message though, please let us know by emailing support (things can easily be missed in the forum).

Are you looking at fixing the CORS policy? The error is being thrown when going from nginx to cowboy. There’s lots of info on the web about addressing it.

I’m afraid the specifics aren’t my department, but there are other changes going on than just fixing this particular issue (which can sometimes means the original problem is no longer applicable, I’m not sure if that’s the case here or not). We trust Doug knows what he’s doing, but as you may have noticed, we’ve been doing quite a bit of maintenance work lately so it’s just a case of not enough hours in the day for one person to get it all sorted immediately!

Just listed two things and had all the photos upload with no red error messages. It made such a difference! If this means it’s fixed - hearfelt thanks to whoever’s been working so hard behind the scenes. (If not, well, I’m still happy that I got lucky today!)

Not fixed, you we’re just lucky; it’s still throwing the cross origin header error

Dear FOLKSY
Please please please … for the sake of my sanity and the ears of my long suffering husband who has to endure my cries of frustration usually accompanied by some profanity… can you sort out the Photo Load errors which every night fill my screen with little red crosses, one little red cross after another…
As you can tell it is slowly driving me nutty…

I have had this problem happen occasionally in the past, but recently it has been happening much more frequently.
I share your pain Joy…
