Hello fellow artisans,
I find myself, unfortunately, dealing with a problem regarding reviews. Let me explain: I sold some products, and while I received one review, other customers contacted me saying they received my boxes but were unable to review my shop because the site did not allow it. I have received reviews on my Facebook page, but they cannot be left on the site.
I encountered the same issue myself after buying a bag from a seller on Folkys: I was unable to leave a review. I understand that eventually, the site will send an email to the recipients of the items asking for a review, but when will this happen? We all know how important reviews are for our business.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Have you found a solution or know how to expedite this process?
Looking forward to your kind response, I extend my best regards
Customers can only leave a review immediately if they are registered with the site (which also allows then to favourite items and shops etc). All will receive an email with a link to leave feedback approx. 2 weeks after purchase, if feedback has not been left. Hope that helps!
Hi Marco i have only had this once and it was when I wasn’t signed in when I placed the order. As Nikki said I don’t think you can leave a review until you receive the email from Folksy if you are not signed into your acc when placing an order. I would imagine this is to ensure reviews can only be left for legitimate orders so that all reviews left on Folksy are genuine ones,
Just a small point Marco, I wasn’t sure from your post whether you were saying that the customers who contacted you had bought your boxes from sources other than Folksy? As far as I understand it, only Folksy buyers are allowed to leave reviews on Folksy. As others have mentioned, the invitation to review goes out a couple of weeks after the purchase from Folksy has been made. Hope this makes sense and good luck with your sales!
It might be that the review email from Folksy to your customer had gone into the customer’s spam folder so they had not seen it. I know of this having happened for one of our sales when a customer contacted us saying they would like to leave a review but didn’t know how to. I asked them to check their spam folder and the email from Folksy had gone there.
Hi, I contacted support and I hope they will get back to me soon. However, I am registered and I cannot leave a review for the item I bought
Marco - have you checked your spam folder in your email account? It is possible the email from Folksy asking for a review went in there.
Hi,
yes, I checked. I understand and acknowledge the errors. However, in my opinion, anyone who makes a purchase from our virtual stalls, whether they are registered on Folkys or not, should feel free to leave a review once they have received their merchandise, whether positive or negative. Unfortunately, Folkys does not currently allow this. If it’s true that Folkys sends an email to the customer 1-2 weeks after they receive one of our items, they might lose the motivation to leave a review in the meantime.
The reason Folksy wait 2 weeks from the point of ordering before sending the review request email is so that items that are made to order or are being shipped overseas have a chance to be made and received before the review request is sent. (Also allows for postal delays which were common at one point because of the strikes).
If the purchaser has an account (and is logged in at the time of purchase) then they can leave a review at any time via their dashboard.
Hi Sasha, but don’t you think it’s fair to have customers who buy goods leave reviews even if they aren’t registered with Folkys?
People who don’t have an account can leave reviews for items purchased on Folksy but not until they have received the email which is sent two weeks after the order is placed to allow time for items to be made and shipped. The time frame used to be shorter but people were getting the request to leave a review before they had received their item and then forgetting to leave a review.
The reason it’s done this way is to ensue reviews can only be left for real purchases made by real buyers.
I agree, but real buyers who do not register on the site cannot leave reviews, one of my customers is unable to leave a review because he did not register when he purchased
He will be able to leave a review when he receives the email from Folksy a couple of weeks after he purchased.
