I’m taking a break from making a huge mess with some small canvasses, Brenda. I did a collage layer on them the other day and have just done an acrylic paint layer with my fingers. They’re just drying now (hopefully before one or the other cats put their feet in them!
I’ve just listed a few more ACEOs. Beginning to lose a little hope of selling anything on here!! I’ve sold 4 things elsewhere this month which isn’t much but its a start. I wonder if my art is a bit too ‘unusual’ for most people’s tastes!! Anyway, here’s the new ones - back to my canvasses now

Looking forward to seeing some cat paw canvases Dawn
Great work Benda
I went to the opening of a joint exhibition at a gallery I sell through on Friday. We can have ordinary stuff there all year but they like to have a selection of different artists on the wall every month. I’m one of the Artists this month
I’m really awful in social situations but everyone was really nice, I saw loads on people walking to the till with my prints and cards too, plus someone put down a deposit on one of my original pieces! Yay
Well done, that’s brilliant Lowri
Well done Lowri…nice to hear of some of us having success.
Dawn, don’t be discouraged…I did have a sale for over 2 months and then I have had 6 this month…so you never know who is waiting to buy…
Today I have an 8x6" watercolour…

I won’t Brenda, I’m just the most impatient person in the world! I know it takes time to get found and its still early days…I’m just impatient haha!
Thank you!
Sorry dawn, I didn’t see your post!, Don’t get discouraged, I’m also pretty impatient, so i understand but persevere. Us quirkier folk just take a bit of time to be found sometimes! As long as you’re selling somewhere it is t so bad.
your work really is lovely, you just need to be seen by the right people. I’ll plug you at the next Folksy Friday
Hello everyone! How are you all? I’ve been busy painting commissions and experimenting with new paints but now I’m back. I’ve missed you all.
Hoping to post some new items this week and looking forward to catching up.
Gaynor x
Aw thank you Lowri @twinkleandgloomart, that’s really sweet of you
Hi Gaynor!
waving Gaynor…lucky you to be busy with commissions…(not that I like them and always say no…lol)
Waving to everyone…let’s hope that when the dust settles in the UK sales will pick up…
I know I shouldn’t mention the other side but I noticed that as I list over there in $'s but get shown the price in £’s, my work this week is worth 20p MORE that it was last week, so that is encouraging.
Today I have listed another of my fantasy watercolours, complete with glitter…everyone needs glitter in their lives…lol
.
here is today’s 8x6 painting.
.
Love those two new listings Brenda, especially the glitter
That’s some good news at least if your work over ‘there’ is worth a bit more!
I’ve got a work in progress - I made a huge mess of this canvas at first but I’m hoping I’ve been able to rescue it. I love the way you can just keep adding layers with acrylic paints if you want to cover up and start again!
One day I’m going to try watercolours. I don’t know why but I’m quite intimidated by them (as I am with oil paints) - I guess its because I’ve never used them much.
Nice work everyone.I wont list this comic brush doodle,it is called" Were we Soldiers ?" It is about all the little creatures lost to human conflict but their loss never gets counted as they are not human losses.
Inspired by the garden next door, pretty accurate.
LOL I always feel sorry for the bugs when I cut the grass…great work
Lovely work too Dawn…,.keep them coming everyone x
morning all…today I have a relist of one of my favourite paintings…I shall probably end up keeping this one if it doesn’t sell soon
.
I love that James @gingakats - everyone always forgets about the animals!
I would definitely want to keep that one Brenda, its lovely.
Love your work in progress Dawn.
Great work from you too James
I wouldn’t blame you for keeping your painting Brenda. I’m a sucker for keeping artwork. I sold a piece at the exhibition I’m in and It’s a bittersweet feeling. I paint for me, so my work is pretty personal. I loved this piece in particular so I’m a bit sad to see it go but you can’t keep everything!! Plus, it’s precious pennies that fund more work, so it’s all good really
Working on a new series of Welsh ladies at the moment:
Surprised that one hasn’t sold Brenda.
James, I live in a fantasy world…lol…so I could live in that painting.
Lovely work on here and there are a few new artists who have opened folksy shops…I have messaged them asking if they want to join us on here for a chat…watch this space.
Question…do any of you like commissions or orders. I just hate them. If someone wants something, I instantly DON’T want to do it…maybe the fear that they won’t like it …or maybe me not knowing what picture they have in their head…
I try hard to make excuses …(ha ha Stephie)…sometimes I accept the challenge but it is rare and usually only for nice people (Stephie) or relatives…
My son is getting married in August…about time as he is 44 and has been with his lady for 10 years…he asked me to design his wedding invitations…aaaargh…I cannot tell you how many times I had to re-do it until he was happy with the result…on the final attempt I told him that if he didn’t like THIS one he could go and BUY the invitations…lol…He is a Mountain Bike riding fireman,…she is a Physics teach that plays Netball…this is the final painting…
.
That’s really great Branda, full of character. I’m sure he’ll love it!
How nice of him to ask his mum!
I’m with you on commissions, I think it’s just the idea of drawing for someone else, you’re not really drawing from your own heart, your trying to draw from someone elses. It’s so difficult to translate an idea when it isn’t coming from your own mind, so unless you have a connection with the person it can be difficult. I designed a logo for my friends cake business, although it was difficult, the fact I knew her well really helped. I haven’t taken any commissions on since.
Two new Welsh ladies finished today.
‘Mae merched Cymraeg yn hudol’ / ‘Welsh girls are Magical’
‘Mae gen’ hi llais fel brân’ It’s hard to translate this one, but it’s a welsh saying for horrible singing voice. ‘brân’ means ‘Crow’ if that gives anyone a better idea.
