Missing order

Just received an email form someone asking when they’ll receive their order. What order? I have no record of an order on folksy or anywhere else. No evidence of payment received. She has an order number, but with the best will in the world I’m not sure my level of sales can justify a 10 digit order number!!
Could by dodgy email - but I’ve replied to say I haven’t got the foggiest idea what order she’s referring to (obviously I was a bit more polite than that!).
Bizarre!

May be they have typed the email address incorrectly, could be someone with a very similar name to you?

Very odd! Was it a contact e-mail via folksy or another site, or just a direct e-mail to you? Sounds like either a very confused buyer, or a scam.

And talking contact emails - I wish Folksy still sent confirmation emails of a sale, as now I just get a paypal email which usually goes straight to my spam box!

Hope you get it sorted!

Last year a ‘‘customer’’ contacted me asking where her item was.
It turned out she’d put it in her basket but not followed through to checkout six weeks previously.
Luckily it was still in stock and she reordered.

I’m still getting confirmation e-mails from Folksy, Sarah, both the initial order and payment ones. Check with admin if yours are not reaching you (I assume you’ve already checked your junk folders).

Thank you - I will do, they stopped for me around three months ago.

Hi Helen, I have had these type of emails purportedly from ebay customers. I found them to be a scam, so never replied to them, just deleted them, they usually had an order number to click on or something similar and goodness knows what they can then do. Marg. x

Assuming you use it, I would use PayPal as my first port of call ; if it ain’t there; it ain’t anywhere!! Lol!!..I had a gripe about Folksy’s Seller Experience on my first (and only!) sale…they really do need to shape up, or a lot of sellers will ship out! …Selling with Etsy and Ebay is slick, simple and easy and it makes situations like this pretty bulletproof to sort out.

I’ve never had any problems selling on here - it’s just as straightforward as the other sites in my experience, and I’ve been here over 3 years now. Maybe I’ve been fortunate, but each site is different and takes a while to get used to. When I first started selling on etsy, it seemed very complicated after here, but I’ve got used to it now.

I haven’t received a reply yet. Haven’t clicked on anything in her email either. Now you come to mention it @memicrafts it did look like an ebay number - and I don’t sell on ebay!
Just to clarify - it’s definitely not a folksy problem - the order number doesn’t make sense on that context. I’ve never had any complaints about the service through folksy and do get notifications of purchases OK, so it all seems to work fab for me.

Hmm. Person has been back in touch saying her credit card payment says handbagsbyhelen. I don’t take credit card payments. But she also seems unable to describe what she ordered. this time there’s a Link to another page - definitely a dodgy spammer. Didn’t want to write her off straightaway in case it was genuine (this hasn’t been as obvious as other spam attempts) and didn’t want negative feedback floating around in the ether. But time to stop replying I think!
Just though I’d share in case anyone else gets anything from Elizabeth Allen.

Sounds curioser and curioser, Helen. Definitely don’t click on any links, but did she say where she bought the item, which site it was on? Buyers can pay by credit card on paypal, so you don’t have to take credit cards for them to have paid that way, but you would still have seen the payment on your paypal account.

If she isn’t giving you much information about the purchase, it sounds like a scam.

I definitely don’t have any money in my account! Mr HbyH looked up the link and told me to steer clear.
