Hi friends, I have a little question to ask you. Searching on folkys for products like mine to see if my products are visible, I couldn’t find my page, I tried different ways, many products similar to mine, but not mine. Am I doing something wrong in the settings as I can’t view my showcase as a potential customer?
Thank you all for any advice or solutions I receive
when did you open your shop…sometimes it takes a while to be visible.
Hi Marco
Best and only way really to get visibility is to promote your shop, usually across social media. I’ve looked at yours you have linked from your shop and on Facebook you have no link to Folksy. On Instagram you have a link but it doesnt work. It show as : https://folksy.com/shop/marcogiglio and your actual shop link is https://folksy.com/shops/marcogiglio
You need to add an s to the end of shops or just copy paste it in which is a safer way to do it.
I also note that though you have some lovely things you only have 4 listings. It really is recommended that you fill your shop with more things for a better chance at visibility.
You listing titles are also not going to help get you seen
“small box” “witty box” …it is unlikely that anyone wanting a sweet box like your small box is going to search for it with those words so won’t find it.
Try adding some descriptive words to the title, certainly you should include Wood Wooden Jewellery for example.
I see on the heart box (maybe use the words heart and box without the hyphen) you give a more detailed description in the inspriation section but it is better to give as much info in the main description as not everyone will click to read the inspiration section and your descriptions are quite brief.
The actual Folksy search is, pretty dare I say it, yes, useless. I can often not find my own things so goodness knows how a customer is expected to. So you can’t rely on it to get customers to your lovely things.

Hope my thought are some help and
PS Your boxes are lovely
You definitely need more descriptive titles as this is the most important thing to help items come up in search. Rather than just having a simple 2 word title, make use of the space and make it like a short description.
What words are you searching when trying to find products like yours? Those are the words you need in your titles.
I would definitely include words like “wooden” and “drawers”, as they’re not just simple boxes.
For your funny box, maybe something like “Curved wooden drawers - funny jewellery box with surreal female figure” might work better?
Also, your items have some good tags, but some that aren’t as useful, such as one item has a very long description as a tag, and one has a lot of Italian tags, which aren’t as likely to be searched on Folksy (they’re good tags though, you just need to translate them to English). Try to make your tags between 1-4 words. Definitely include tags like “jewellery box”, “trinket box”, “wooden drawers”. Include the type of wood (the funny box doesn’t mention walnut in the regular tags or materials). The heart one could make a good anniversary gift, and wood is the traditional gift for 5 years, so “wood anniversary” and “5th anniversary gift” are also tags you could use.

Hi, thanks for replying and giving me advice. Yes, I could change the names of my boxes, but I couldn’t add other products because by doing this job in my free time I can finish a box in a week between cutting, treatment and final finishing, whereas only the last two take me a whole day. so introducing new products is slow for me, but with time we hope to succeed. Thanks so much for the compliments, I’m glad you like them. I really put a lot of passion into it even though I’m not a true craftsman but my work is more. Thanks again
Thanks for the reply, yours are also good advice, similar to the other friend but with the added tag. I’ll try this too. Thank you
