There is a good forum to get on to - with your curser hover over where it says hello knittingnanny at the top of the home page and choose ‘talking folksy’. Then look down the forums until you find the one called Folksy 365 - Daily Listing and Promotion Thread February 2023] Go right to the top of this thread and it will explain what happens and what you need to do. It is a very friendly forum and we all help each other get exposure on the home page, instagram, pinterest etc. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

welcome to Folksy,it is a lovely place to be and everyone here is really helpful…I hope you do well with lots of sales.
I am on the 365 forum and it is extremely good for getting sales… You have to read the instructions before you agree to take part and it takes a bit of time each day but it really helps.
ALso don’t get despondent if sales take time. Most of us have had to wait a couple of months to get that elusive first sale but for me, I have now sold over 1300…so it works…
Plenty of people here to help you x
BEAUTIFUL knitting…just one piece of advice…put on the bio that these are not toys and not suitable for young children. There are lots of rules with items that might be thought of as toys and would need CE testing…better to be on the safe side and cover your back x

Hi Brenda
Thank you for taking the time to look at my shop. I think you have made a really good point about not being toys and I will be remedying that now. Very good advice thankyou. I will try the 365 forum but I am not very hi tech so will give it a go tomorrow when hopefully I will have more time. You seem to have become a great success on Folksy, hope I can be too but aiming for 1300 sales in knitting is a bit too ambitious. Right now I would settle for one to get me going. Thank you once again and I hope to chat to you again sometime Linda xx

Gorgeous work  just a bit more info about knitted or crochet soft toys, sadly you cannot just label as not a toy or put an age disclaimer as all soft toys sold in the UK must legally be CE/UKCA tested to be sold and this would certify that they are safe from 0-14 years. A rule of thumb that I was advised was that if it looks like a toy or has play value then it needs testing. The good news is though, you can self certify and test your toy’s at home. I used to crochet toys and tested mine at home and it is much easier than I thought it would be  The best place I found for info was a Facebook group with lots of experienced soft toy makers with lots of knowledge who are always willing to help. Let me know if you would like the details for the group and I will find a link.
Wishing you all the very best with your shop  x

Hi. It looks great. I think your pricing is a bit low as I know how much wool costs & all the work you must put into each garment. It’s really difficult to judge how much to charge, so maybe see how it goes to start with & then up your prices a wee bit. Lots of luck.
