Problems we all have

Being an Artist in any form, be it Crafting, Woodwork, Metalwork, Baking or Painting has its own difficulties. My chosen relaxation is Oil painting. I love trying to create what I see in a photograph or in my mind but I have a problem. I am colour blind.
Some people seem to think being colour blind is that you can only see Black and White, this not the case. I have what is called ‘Red, Green deficiency’. This means Reds, Greens and Brown’s and the colours relating to them are hard to distinguish with.
So if the colours in my work don’t look like what you would expect, they do to me😁
I’ll carry on regardless :art:

On a hot day like today your shop is definitely the best place to enjoy a cold drink, sit indoors and spend time time looking at your fabulous art. Beautiful art. You are an inspiration.

Thank you

That’s interesting, the colours I see in your paintings always look as if they are the ones you intended to give a different vibe to the piece, but I guess these aren’t the colours you see! I tend to forget that what I see isn’t necessarily the same as others.

Take care!

I mix to what i see as the colour required, I somtimes ask my wife to tell me what colour it is. My biggest problem seems to be brown. I’m told the are green at times. Ah well :relieved: such is life…

I don’t think it matters one jot if your colours are not what others see, surely that is part of their charm? Well I think so, your paintings are beautiful just as they are.

Thank you. These comments are giving me confidence :art:

I’d sort of assumed that if you see the colours of what you are painting differently, then you will also see the colours of your paints differently - so if you mix the paints till they look to you like the colour of your subject, everything will work out fine. Or is that not how it works?

Your paintings are lovely, anyway!

Doesn’t seem to work for me like that.
