Ha ha, I like them a lot. If my daughter read the last one she would be badgering me non-stop to look it up!
Iād be up for a car sticker but in reality some form of flyer/postcard that could be handed out at craft fairs or even just a small individual poster/flyer that could be pinned to my display board/table at fairs would be good. At least then customers will see the name even if only subliminally and it might get the folksy name out there. It could even become a talking point allowing the message to spread even further among both crafters and customers.
Sian @sianfolksy
I would like car window stickers.
And something like a flyer or business card that could be handed out whenever the need arose.
I give out my own business cards all the time and it would be nice to have something specifically Folksy.
Then when people say āWhat is Folksy?ā I have something to give them explaining what it is and where to find it.

Me too please, I live in deepest darkest Cornwall where no-one I meet has heard of Folksy.
Thank you in anticipation.

Might it be possible for Folksy to have made suitable branded items that met your requirement of quality that we could display at craft fairs saying āsee my shop on Folksyā.
what about a wooden, leather, perspex or slate plaque. that could be placed on the table at a fair.
We work in all those materials and many others within Folksy are capable of producing the quality of product that defines Folksy.
Iād love to use this sort of thing as well!
I like the car window sticker idea- cheap & easy to do- gives people something to Google and discover when theyāre sitting behind you in a traffic jam!
I think leaflets or little Folksy specific business cards for shops/craft fairs would be good. They could all of course just be ordered through Folksy and therefore fulfil the trademark requirements etc.
Maybe a Folksy specific business card with a little gap to write your shop name on would be useful? Especially for start up crafters who donāt have a great deal of money to spend on Folksy business cards & their own shop specific ones.
I guess thereās lots of ideas to explore! Word of mouth is important- I discovered Folksy through Twitter where other people I followed were sharing the address of their Folksy shop- but something visual is always an added bonus as well!
Let me know when the car window stickers are for sale!
Ive had my business card in a local fabric shop and whenever I go in its lost in the pile of other people cards. Plus people will already be looking at your Foklsy work if they are collecting a card off your table.
Im not against cards/leaflets but its gotta be big and colourful to compete.
I wasnt a fan of vinyl car stickers but when you think how many people will see it, in traffic, when your cars parked etc itl get seen more. Also love the aforementioned phrases to go on them.
Maybe bigger vinyl stickers could go in home owners windows for passers by to see.
Iām a dispensing optician by trade - our association try to promote to the public (canāt say itās having a great deal of success, as know one has a clue about us outside of opticsā¦)
But hereās some lovely stuff they make available for us to buy

I wasnāt able to download the sheet - not sure if I need to log in, or if my computerās playing up again.
A sheet of stickers would be great - little circles maybe. We could buy those and stick them to everything
(I did have to log in. Will this work for anyone? http://www.abdo.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/ABDO-Corporate-Items-0412.pdf )
(Iām not suggesting Folksy produces a range of cufflinks and bottle stoppers, butā¦ you knowā¦ why not!)
Yep Iām with Elaine a car window Vimyl sticker is an excellent idea. I was going to have my friend make one for me for my Folksy shop.
Thanks everyone, this is really helpful
Iām for car stickers as well, anything that will help promote Folksy has got to be a bonus.
Not sure a bumper sticker would work for me as my vehicle is usually covered in mud!
However, I think posters with a QR code on them could work well if located in places like bus stations, train & underground stations etcā¦so that people can zap the code and shop while they commute.
That sounds a bit advanced for me Angela @ARCJewellery!
Roz, I was thinking of this as something that Folksy could do rather than us as there would have to be agreements (and probably a fee paid) for putting the posters up.
Yay, to the likes for my car sticker idea.
Just gained another Forum badge through this post
Gary has just learned of the idea so thatās double āhonkā from here.
Liz, thank you so much for bringing this up. I too, did a bit of research, and I confess was left rather irritated at Folksy.
The fact is ; if you are in a business that needs sellers to make fees, then why an earth arenāt you promoting it more?
It shouldnāt take a few enthusiastic, business minded people to do it for them.
They certainly do far more than other sites Iāve seen in the UK but thereās always room for improvement. Thatās one of the reasons I choose Folky.
Weāre talking about different things we can do for you following this thread, including a downloadable poster with your banner, shop name, Folksy logo and maker bio that you could display at fairs. Would that help? In the meantime weāve also got an offer with Moo for free business cards. You get 50 cards with your Folksy shop name and logo - all for free! http://folksy.it/15STzBU
That would be wonderful
