Ah…just reading the instructions again Camilla, I dont think i uploaded my images first, think I tried tomadd them to the templates from library, not sure.
I will have another go later today as I would like to use the same as everyone else if possible. If I get stuck again i will ask for help…thank you
Sorry it’s confusing. You should be able to just upload your own images, then go to Uploads, select the image and drag it across to the template you want to use to replace the existing picture. I’ve made a very quick video here to explain - does that help?
Thank you very much Camilla, I’m sure that will help, I am better at following instructions from images…or from being shown than from text. This made it look easy, I will give it a go when I get back later.
Yes its ashame that sellers are excluded from these things who dont have a plus account. Ive recently come back to Folksy and have had sakes paid my fees but cant take part. I am waiting to see how it goes before i commit to the plus account. Seems very unfair to me.
Why is it unfair? Plus sellers pay higher fees so they can take advantage of these additional benefits. Pay lower fees and naturally you get less.
Sorry but I’ve seen a few posts saying ‘its not fair’ and I disagree.
Sorry Camilla will message you as I accidentally hit enter before I had finished :).
I thought overall depending on how much you list in theory your listing fees would be lower with a plus account. Im.not listing enough at the moment for a plus account to be economical sense for me but I have sold a few things recently so i am generating revenue for Folksy im just not locked in to a plus acvount .
I just think its ashame to create the divide between the plus and not plus when it comes to events or exposure.
Listing fees are just part of the package that has to be taken into account when deciding whether or not to pay for Plus.
Yes i know.
I also had trouble adding text of my own on a Canva template I picked. Last time I did manage easily, not sure why it became challenging this time.
I’m not the best on these things lol…I think the video Camilla sent will help, I didnt know how to add images, played with it for a while then went back to adobe which I find straight forward. There have been a few things lately where we have needed canva for templates so i’m going to try again.
I wonder if something has changed on it if you struggled this time.
I haven’t yet sold any of my ‘shop early’ items but I’m seeing a definite uptick in sales this week (about time!) and I think it’s at least in part due to the ‘buzz’ around the forthcoming event. I’m hoping it will lead to more sales for lots of Folksy shops and not just the ones taking part in the promotion - bringing more buyers to the site in general has to be a good thing!
Stick with it, I found Canva massively confusing to start with too and it still has a shedload of buttons that I have no idea what they even do… but I did eventually figure out how to do the bare minimum necessary to add my own images to the templates! I hate learning new technical stuff but like you I’m carrying on with Canva because the templates are so useful. Good luck!
I too have found Canva confusing…I’m glad it’s not just me.
I have reduced a few selected items for this weekends event, and have tagged them with ‘shop early’ so I’m hoping that’s enough to get me noticed.
@folksycontent …yeah I did it, took me 2 hours and I made a reel using Adobe with 11 images and your badges, still find Canva more confusing than Adobe but slowly getting there
You can just join in anyway. I think the only ‘perk’ that Plus sellers have this time is a bit of exposure on the front page. I’m not a plus seller but I have used the templates that Folksy created for us and made a ‘Shop Early’ section in my shop offering a discount over the weekend. The event also gives you some content for your social media to bring people to your shop. Traffic to the site will be up this weekend, I’m going to make the most of it!
I’m rather pleased with myself, I managed to add my photos but it took me 2 hours as I kept losing them, figured out how to delete the backgrounds already supplied but no idea how to create a reel so downloaded them all and then did the reel on Adobe…a very long way round but I did it
There’s only one of my items showing in the ‘shop early’ showcase, i tagged a couple with shop early last week but they arn’t showing
@Bearlescent It’s because you have an upper case S in the ‘shop early’ tag on two of your items (I checked!) - I did exactly the same, and couldn’t work out why only two of my three items I had tagged were appearing - all the letters need to be lower case
Ah thank you very much for your help, I always thought it didn’t matter whether upper or lower case for gift guides,
I will go and change them now
