Hi everyone
We’re still quite new to Folksy but I’m a bit confused about expired / out of stock items (sorry if this seems like a daft question!)
When my first batch of listings expired, I relisted them from the app and it all seemed very straightforward. Recently I had some listings expire and when I went to the expired section on the app, I noticed that 2 cards that had been sold were there (I’m sure that previously they were under the Out of Stock section) I made sure just to relist the cards that had expired and that I still have to sell - I thought it may be a blip on the app as none of the 3 sales I’ve made were now showing up in the Out of Stock section)
I’ve been on the web version today to see what’s on there and noticed that my 3rd sale is now showing in active listings as being relisted on 6.9.23 (I don’t even remember renewing any expired listings on this day and am pretty sure I wouldn’t have relisted an item I no longer have!)
Anyway, I decided to delete the 3 items I’ve sold so that they can’t renew themselves again or get sold again but have now just realised that my reviews now have no photo’s with them! Doh!
So…my question is how do you make sure that sold out items don’t relist themselves or be relisted accidently? Is there a way of keeping out of stock items in that section, so that you don’t lose the photo on reviews, or do they always move to expired?
Hope this makes sense and I haven’t managed to overcomplicate something that is actually very easy!
Any advice would be great - thanks so much.

Make sure you relist when they are still active not after they are expired. ie. when they are still in your active, stocked list. Tricky to pick them out once they have expired as they get mixed in with the sold. You should get an email about things due to expire today and that is when you need to action it.
All items (from for sale, out of stock and hidden) will move to the expired section after their expiry date.
There is no system for automatic renewals on Folksy, so if something does get relisted then it will be because a relist/renew button has been clicked. Unfortunately sold listings moving to expired has confused a lot of us when we’re new though so there has been some accidental renewals of sold listings because of this.
Deleting items isn’t usually good because it will remove the image from your recently sold page, from any reviews. and if you’d shared the link anywhere such as on social media/Pinterest, that link will no longer work (which may not seem important as the item is now sold, but if someone is interested in your item and gets to the sold page, they can still at least get back to your shop to see if you have anything else they like or contact you for a commission).
Some people like to reduce the stock number to 0 to help them spot these unavailable listings in the expired folder, personally I edit the title to start “Sold” so it’s really clear (and if I’ve hidden something because it’s gone out to a shop/exhibition and may or may not come back, I normally edit the title to start with the shop’s initials so again I know if it moves to expired, and if it does come back months later I just need to look out for the initials).
Thank you, I have been receiving the emails and then waiting till the items have actually expired. In future I’ll relist as soon as the email arrives
Thank you! I won’t be deleting again, I panicked when I saw the sold item in the active list
