Stand with Ukraine - a new tag for items sold to support charity donations

Will there be something on the main Folksy page for this (similar to a gift guide?) Otherwise how will potential customers know it’s there, I’m not sure there will be many people coming to Folksy and typing ‘Stand with Ukraine’ in a search bar. I know many sellers will promote this on social media but perhaps a note on the landing page saying Folksy are supporting Ukraine etc .
I had a look and decided to use DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, its easy to donate any proceeds online.

Will the search for this be changed so that it only picks up relevant items i.e like the themes of the day.

Perhaps there could be a section on the front page similar to the one we had for face coverings.

We’re working on adding a section to homepage. It should be live very soon.

Thank you Camilla, I tried the tag but it brought up thousands of items, obviously picking up all the words used in the search.

@Bearlescent See my reply here, search works differently to tag pages, and what will be linked to on the homepage will be the tag page, so it won’t have all of those extra irrelevant items.

Thank you very much for replying…I clicked on my tag for stand with Ukraine on one of my listings yesterday after I had been on here and it only brought up those items that are tagged…whereas when I typed it in the search it brought everything up so I now understand what you mean…thank you x

I have already donated to the disaster emergency committee (DEC) but the full sale price from this cushion will also be donated

The ‘Stand With Ukraine’ section is now live on the Homepage.
It shows 4 randomly chosen items that have been tagged with ‘stand with ukraine’ and has a ‘See More’ button that takes you to the TAG PAGE which shows all items with that specific tag (not a search page).

Hi

I am frantically adding some of my items to the ‘stand with Ukraine’ Folksy.com home page. Either 100% or a set amount for expensive items will be donated to my chosen charity unicef. Every item has full details against the listing for customers to see where their money will be going. Unfortunately most items does exclude Folksy.com and card payment commission fees and postage costs. Unicef are already organising humanitarian aid in Ukraine. My heart goes out to them. It’s unimaginable in our world watching what is going on and it puts it into perspective for most of us just how fortunate we are!

Put this on the other thread too but thought I’d share here too hope it’s O.K.

There’s a twitter account about a fundraising event for Ukraine it’s going to be a 24hour live stream of historians etc called @history4ukraine they’ve just done a call out for Sunflower art to help them promote if you want to share here’s the link.

I have created a collection Stand For Ukraine and will donating 100% of money to Ukraine

It would be good if Folksy could donate their fees/commission or remove it from these sales @Folksyadmin

I’m so happy that Folksy have done this. I have worked my way through all my shop listings and got all of the ready-to-post items tagged, with a note to say I will donate to DEC humanitarian relief in Ukraine and an amount for each item. I was wondering how to make a contribution and this is great. I have already had a sale, which is a great start to my DEC fund!

Thank you. I think I used the tag ok. Not sure if caps make a difference so I edited it to all lower case.

I will be donating 100% to the Red Cross - Ukraine Appeal if it sells.

I was hoping to raise £200.00 from the sale of my large selection of ‘stand with Ukraine’ chosen items in the home page section. I decided to add a set amount to each listing some very reasonably priced pieces, some expensive pieces with £50.00 going to my chosen charity unicef. I have also purchased from other seller’s giving to the Ukraine fund. However, I don’t hold out much hope so far for my chosen charity as I haven’t had one single item sold yet and i’m feeling quite deflated now!

I’ve sold a few low value items, yielding a £10 donation, and although I would like to have sold more, I see this as a long term thing because the effects of this conflict will be with us for a long time. Don’t feel bad! Don’t give up! How are you highlighting your items ?

No don’t give up. I’m sure some sales will come your way. Thank you for supporting my fund raising. £44 has now been donated to the British Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. I am hoping for more and in the meantime trying to promote other sellers ’ Stand with Ukraine’ items as well as my own.
