I read something on the forum that reminded me about using all my tags. Shamed to say Id hardly added any when I looked. I added as many as I could yesterday. Usually I get about 5-7 views a day, yesterday I got 45!!!
Hopefully they will become sales at some point but thought Id show you the difference adding tags can make to views. Off to tag my other shop now.
I always feel like a spoil sport when I point this out but you adding tags will show up on your folksy views. If you did every item in your shop that would account for 30 something of those views so your view count might be slightly higher than normal but not by much. The true test of how successful the tagging endevour has been will be whether your views stay higher than the previous base line of 5-7 per day. All that said well done on getting all your items tagged (and on achieving 5-7 views per day in the first place) - I’m still along way behind with mine and its what I’m working on for the next few days.
I shall go and be a grinch elsewhere.
Sasha
I don’t mind a bit of grinchyness.
Ive been adding more tags, its making my head spin, but refreshing to see a rise in views whether they stay or not.
I think I need to work on my tags, cause I’m not sure if they are good or bad… any suggestions?
There was something I noticed concerning tags. I put 5 on when tags originally came back in and saw an increase in views over the next month or so.
Must have missed the news when these increased to 15 but I saw a corresponding crash in views over then next month or two-lower than before tags had been introduced.
This situation has corrected following increasing the tags on my items, so I wonder if people who were looking were finding other items with more tags on instead.
The figures I’m basing this on take my own views into account.
My conclusion is that the tags do have an effect-but not so far on sales
