I hope your hubby continues to improve and that 2020 is a good year for you.
Sure he will recover now he is home. My Bob had angina in March which the 3 months of tests, echocardiogram, angiogram, mri etc etc showed needed fixing via full open heart bypass, which he had eventually in July. A good 6 weeks to recover from that op but once he had been to the gym a few times for some strenuous cardi rehab, which reassured him he was actually 100% ok again, he has been fine.
Not looked back since and we will be flying off to South Africa in February making up for a rather stressful 2019.
Just one point to note from Bob and obviously others we’ve spoken to after heart ops… it is Very common after heart attacks and operations to have panic attacks. We had to call the paramedics twice in the two weeks after he was out of hospital but the panic does stop once everything settles down but can be scary.
Sure your 2020 will be as good as ours is going to be … he’s fixed now. Relax. xxxx
His heart attack was 23rd October so he has been home a while now. He had a stent put in which is classed as only partly supported because of the shape of the artery so he is not allowed any strenuous activity until that is well bedded in, or it could be dislodged. His medication thins his blood and keeps his blood pressure down so he has to take it steady or he could pass out. He is doing cardiac rehab twice a week but has to take it slow, can’t do strenuous. He gets tired easily but thankfully he hasn’t had panick attacks so far.
We are just looking forward to getting back to normal in 2020, then I can relax. xx
Kim we will be relaxing with you. Bob was not at all his old self for 3 months (but he had had a 6 hour operation and 2+ weeks in Critical Care as they removed a tumour as well as replacing his arteries). He also found his meds upset him and still do sometimes. About once a week he gets dizzy after his morning pill cocktail but the surgeon says flying is fine as he is safer now he is on blood thinners. Great to know As I’m on them too for AF we will fly safely together.
Have a great 2020 both of you.
