I hope your husband is home soon Wendy
Thanks for the good wishes! Wendy
What a nice thread, itâs so interesting to find out what other makers do when theyâre not working on their craft! I love cooking, especially cakes but also recipes from countries itâs unlikely Iâll ever visit (this started back in lockdown and the family started setting me challenges, Liechtenstein or Tajikistan for example!) and in the summer itâs bliss to just sit in the garden with a good book. Preferably something non-taxing or that Iâve read before, so that if I doze off it doesnât matter! I am also a bit addicted to online live wildlife camera streams, particularly underwater ones involving tropical fish, thereâs something very calming about watching wildlife just doing its thing in real time with no human disturbance. Oh and of course I dabble in other crafts, messy printmaking, beadwork, calligraphy, crochet⌠still havenât mastered knitting though!
Itâs lovely to hear what everyone does and has made me think about things, working every hour means I donât have any time out. I sit on a bed to sew as pain dictates what I can or canât do and the new smaller bears donât seem like work as I enjoy making them but maybe itâs time to pick up a book or refresh myself on the tarot cards or palmistry as I havnât done anything since starting 10 years ago. I have craft books that i have bought or have received as presents over the past few years that I havnât even turned the pages of, I might start by having one night a week as a book night or even start a craft that i can do for myselfl
