@Coloursandtextures I have some glitter if you need it !!
Trevor…is that…er no to the purple glitter , or er no…to a girl having standards?
You’ll have lot of fun with that one, it’s so juicy and runs into gorgeous pinks and blues. The nib is chiselled so you can use it at various angles to achieve a thick or a thin line.
@teabreaks I’ll pass on he glitter lol
Steph I thought for one moment u were talking about my winnings.
Hehe I’m imagining you running through pinks and Blues in your purple beach shoes now Tessa, that does sound like a lot of fun!
I’ll let you work it out…
wow lots of activity yesterday I was so tired after work fell asleep on the sofa! will catch up later, but for now just listed this one

Lovely landscape Brenda and pretty butterfly Max
This is a postcard size one from me today : Spring Blossom
@ClareSherwen great to see Clare’s Tulip featured on the home page today - well done Claire
@StephanieGuy thank you Stephie, I am really excited to have a go with the pen. I will see how I go but might invest in a water brush too, would be great to have something to take out and about with me, I do make sketches when I’m out occasionally but more often take a photo to remind me and then sketch when I get back. But I think it would be fun to do more while out and about, we have a days out planned over the next few weeks so might have some good opportunities
I’m just back from the post, two prices sent today so a good start to the month
I had a message this morning asking if my Peacock was for sale, now listed and reserved, need a quick coffee now, been running errands and popped back to put some things in the freezer before we are off out again - raining here today !!!
Catch up with you all later
Good morning all, been pouring with rain for a few hours here, but it’s just stopped now… Feels nice outside, alittle freshness to the air plus there’s loads of birds singing this morning including a blackbrid which has the sweetest of songs…
No new listing from me so far today, but I’m busy promoting my “Two Boats In Lilac” print everywhere at the moment - quite surprised it’s attracted virtually no interest at all since I listed it as I felt it would be a popular picture! Still, who am I to know, I only created the image…!
Here’s another little picture for you too - it’s not listed anywhere at all, but I thought I’d just give it an airing to see if you like it…
Trevor I like the man - is it someone famous? I’m hopeless with faces
Fab start to the month for you Hazel, well done! Hopefully your May will be like my April was I’ve found that since I started sketching from life everyday my work has become much more dynamic. I think working from photos all the time can make the finished pieces look flat. Even when I work from photos now I find myself adjusting the image so that it has more oomph.
Lovely tranquil river scene Brenda, I could quite happily spend a lazy day there.
Pretty butterfly Max.
I have a couple of new butterflies today too
Yes, it’s Alastair Sim, the great old English actor…
Cool! Did you take that photo of him? It’s very good.
I can’t claim copyright on the photo I’m afraid, hence the fact I’ve not got it listed - my copyright is simply on what I did to the original image… not sure how the copyright laws work on that…
No I’m not sure either. I seem to recall that famous people with a public persona forgo the right to copyright on their image (so you can paint a likeness of the Queen for example) but if you’re painting from (or modifying, in your case) someone else’s photograph then the original photographer retains the copyright on their image for 70 years after their death.
So you probably need written permission from the original photographer to use it.
What a unique lighthouse Pam! Have you been to Washington? Fab painting.
Yes, that’s what I thought… don’t like the thought of treading on other people’s toes, hence I don’t list these for sale…
Nice a Nice art work here to-day you have all been busy
I have painted another butterfly, blue this time…Jeanie x
