Weekly Art Chat Thread W/C 5th May

Evening all, just on the bus, wet and yucky here too :(’ so sad about the tea shop Stephie it’s awful to see people lose so much when it’s been a long time dream. Lol on the hint hint, not decided yet whether to offer for sale or just keep to use as display, they do take some time to make especially getting the tiny mitre corners right! Maybe I need to branch out and go the whole hog making furniture for dolls houses

Lovely work today from everyone, well done on front page too Hazel

Thank you Max, I’ve just sold two pieces, both purple so I wonder if being on the home page does help

I think there is a market for handmade Dolls House Furniture, we have been to several fairs recently and they are not cheap … and not many of the stall holders are online which I find strange

Congrats on the sales Hazel! Front page really does make a difference.

No worries if it’s too time consuming to make easels to sell Max, I have a couple that will do the job for now. If you do decide to have a go I would still be interested if they don’t work out too expensive.

Evening everyone (waving to all). Beautiful work from everyone as always, and so much temptation!

Hope you are all having a good evening and congratulations to Hazel for being on the front page and for the sales. I am chuffed to be there too

Morning Max - I love the yellow in your butterfly.

Today’s subject for an outing is my Oak Bush Cricket. Haven’t seen any in the garden (or on the bathroom ceiling) yet but it’s only a matter of time!

I’m hoping to finish the preliminary sketch for the Land Rover today so will post later if I do.

Have a great Friday everyone

Morning Max and Gaynor, lovely butterfly and Cricket

… its a bit quiet in here today … are you all busy painting? I’m busy got web work on so no painting for me today, just posted my two sales from yesterday and a miniature from this morning so think its time for a coffee now

I look in again later to see what you are all up too

Hazel

Morning, all!
Fab cricket, Gaynor, and pretty butterfly, Max.
I’m catching up on some sewing today and probably won’t have time to paint, but as I’m happy doing any crafting, it’ll be a great day!
Hope the sales continue to roll in for you, Hazel!

Finished the preliminary sketch! I always find it nerve-wracking making that first brush stroke. That will have to wait until tomorrow as I’ve other work to do now.

will be back shortly to look at all the work. My pc man is here and is servicing and re installing my anti virus and woohoo…at last it has allowed me to download a picture directly from my pc. My" man" said that it might have been the anti virus that was treating it as a threat…lol…

Hi all, just back from a short break to Wales, way too many lovely things to comment on them all!

So much to catch up on all over the web, back later!

Thanks Pam  We stayed for four nights in Llandudno. Had a fab time, Mum and Dad enjoyed it too but are glad to get back to their own beds tonight!

Glad you had a nice time Margaret

My “pen” has arrived today …

@StephanieGuy I admire your sketches more than ever now - it’s harder than it looks lol but I’m having fun

Hazel enjoy your pen! The secret is to relax and let it do its own thing. Oh and you need a lot less pen on the paper than you might think. Do show us your creations…

Margaret welcome back

Gaynor the outline sketch is fab. It’s all downhill from here, you can’t go wrong with a sketch like that.

Waving to everyone I’ve missed

Good morning All, it was very quiet in here yesterday.

I got hooked on playing with my pen … it is fun and I am sure it will come in very handy for making sketches to remind me what I want to paint in wax later …

I’m going to be brave and show you a couple … be gentle with me lol

One is based loosely on a pot of herbs I have on the back patio and the other is doodle of a freesia … photos not wonderful as taken with my phone last night …
