Morning everyone. Lovely to see your blue skies - very grey here today. Still working on the water lily, it’s coming along.

Morning

Love the scenes this morning!

Connors still poorly, have to wait for 2 weeks for the blood test, apparently the best time to have it. The college are being very good about his coursework, they have given him an extension and have said they understand if he doesn’t go into college until September.

I’ve got a little racoon ACEO to add later, after I’ve sorted through my little ones clothes, they seem to have both had a growth spurt and everything I pull out of their drawers is too small!!

Your water lily is looking fab already Gaynor, I’m really enjoying the WIP pics on FB. We have gorgeous blue sunny skies today, I’m looking forward to my lunchtime walk already.

Maria, hope Connor feels better very soon. Look forward to seeing your racoon.

Well, it seems the standards the Derwent Art Academy will accept are not that high!lol I scribbled a very small and very basic shell for lesson 3, didn’t use charcoal and it took me literally 5 minutes. I fully expected them to reject it but they’ve let me move on to the next level. I think it will actually get easier for me as I go on as I have more appropriate materials and I’m better with pencils and watercolour than I am with sketching

Wish I’d known that Maragert! I only spent 15 mins in total on my lesson 3 but I did both the dotty one and the charcoal one

Gaynor I’m following your waterlilies on fb too, they’re looking good.

Maria I hope Connor feels better soon. Has it affected any major exams?

Very pretty landscapes Max, Jeanie and Brenda.

It’s obviously the day for landscapes, I’ve just listed these two inchie landscapes

They are very pretty indeed Stephie, I think the bottom one is my favourite.

I’m looking forward to watching lesson 4 tonight and playing with my coloured pencils. I’ve neglected them for ages, this will give me the incentive to get them out.

I had a fab walk round a wooded lake at lunch, saw a kingfisher fly across the lake, amazing streak of blue!

Ooh Margaret your very lucky I’d love to see a kingfisher. I managed to spot a very colourful jay at the weekend sadly he was just a little too quick for my camera! But I got some lovely shots of the house and waterlilies I’ll post them on FB later on just sat in the garage now waiting for my car, it’s going to be an hour so I might even get time to sketch something on my iPad in a bit.

Loving the landscapes today

It’s only the third time I’ve ever seen one. I’ve seen quite a lot of Jays round here though, the woodlands of Cheshire seems to suit them.

I have seen quite a lot of kingfishers…they usually fly across water, like a stream and when walking the dog I used to see them on a regular basis. One of my favourite birds…so pretty… Every day we have lots of Jays in fact there are two outside now…arguing with a magpie…We have baby badgers and a vixen with 4 furry cubs that are coming up every evening. …It’s like a zoo up here !!

Brenda, maybe you should charge people to come and visit your garden to see the wildlife, it could be an extra income for you!lol

I have seen them several times but they are so quick just a flash of blue.
