Welcome back Jacqui @embroideryscene
Karen
Thank you Karen.
Jacqui.
HI I’m Pat and my shop on Folksy is called Lewicia. I make embroidered and applique items ranging from a quilt to a pincushion. Only quilts in my shop at the mo. but hope to get xmas gifts listed soon. I wanted to show my owls in the Twit, two showcase but can’t work out how to a) make a link to my shop and b) bring in the photos. New age computer techy procedures are a bit beyond me, unless I have a step by step instruction. Any help would be much appreciated ( might even be a forerunner to getting on social media sites - some of us have gotten left behind!!!). Shows my age a bit - but my crafting and sewing experience does go back to the mid 50’s. Many thanks in anticipation of your much valued help.
Hi there Pat, welcome, it has taken me a while to find my way around too!
What you have to do is copy the URL (the bit that starts http) at the top of the page of the item you wish to feature. Then go to the relevant part of the forum, click reply, a box will open up and you then paste the URL into the box and add a comment if you wish. Hope this helps.
Thanks will give it a try
Hi my name is Steph, I am new to Folksy as a seller. I am loving the way it works so far. I make jewellery, mostly glass tile pendants, any tips for running a successful shop would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Steph @jewellerybyserendipity.
Welcome to Folksy. I hope your having fun setting up your new shop
I’ve just popped in for a nosy and its looking nice. I love the jewellery you have listed so far. I think its really hard to stand out as a jewellery seller so its nice to have your own unique edge
I did notice your postage though. Your initial first item p+p is fair enough but it might be best to lower your additional cost. I think it should always be lower or it may put a customer off buying more than one item.
I have p+p at £1.00 with 0.10p additional charge per extra item. Slightly more for overseas.
Good luck with your shop and promote like crazy.
Karen
Hi @karenscraftybitz, I think I have misunderstood what that meant so thank you for pointing that out to me. I will get that changed : )
Steph
No probs @jewellerybyserendipity just shout if you need any help. There’s always someone on the forums to point you in the right direction

Hello! Ive just resurrected my Folksy shop. It’s been dormant for a couple of years as I use Etsy, but I thought Id give Folksy another go. Ive only listed two items so far, more to come. Look forward to seeing what others have to offer over here!
Hi, my name is Carol and I am brand new to Folksy but was recommended it by another stallholder at a Craft Fair I did recently and I’m very impressed.
Since I was given a sewing machine last year I have become addicted to buying fabric and shiny purse clasps and because of that Sew Gorgeous Accessories was born. Up until now I have made mostly purses, bags and cushions but am always on the look out for new ways of using up my stash.
At the moment I am finding Folksy a bit of challenge but I’m sure things will get easier!! I’ve listed some bags and a few purses but have loads more clutch bags, glasses cases and purses to list in the coming weeks when I get a chance to photograph them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this x
Hello, I’m new here.
Excited, and somewhat daunted by all the official bits of starting up (HRMC, insurance etc) but have read tons of useful stuff here. So thank you all for that
I’ve got a basic shell of a FB page, but it will need serious work. I’ve lurked here for a long time, and have read that promotion is key. Can’t say I’m going to be good at but will try.
I guess my story is similar to a lot of people here. Made various bits and pieces all my life, and been encouraged to sell, but completely lacked confidence, but have finally decided to give it a go. Just got the shiny things in the shop at the moment, but hoping to include other things as time allows (Grateful for any opinions and advice from all the veterans here!)
Thanks!
Hi Everyone,
I’m Sue from Newcastle upon Tyne on the North East coast of England. I’ve Just started to stock my Folksy shop with my first few items, so I thought I would check out the forums and just say hello
I’ve been selling handmade jewellery for a few years now and in September of last year I began selling jewellery making supplies to run alongside my jewellery making - it helps pay for my crafting obsession! I work full-time from home on my supplies business and hopefully by next year I will be able to actually pay myself a part-time wage! I only have a few jewellery making tools listed in my shop at the moment but I will be working on listing many more supplies and handmade jewellery over the coming weeks.
I’m married to a wonderful man and have a grown Son and two gorgeous Chihuahuas.
I’m off to check out the forums (took me all my time just to learn how to post this, so I need some practice).
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Sue
Hi Sue,
Welcome to Folksy, I hope you enjoy your stay. Just going to check out your shop.
Good Luck,
Esterina xx.
Hi, Im Lou and Im new…please take a nosey at my shop and let me know what you think. Lots more items to come! nice to meet you all!
I live in North Yorkshire with my 2 boys aged 6 and 9, Lola the cat and Alfie the guinea pig.
Hi, I am Jayne, and the “One little Pug” who inspired my shop is Henry. I make handmade greetings cards, which I hop will bring a smile to the face of anyone who receives them. Henry’s contribution is to lay at my feet as I work and snore loudly!! I haven’t listed on Folksy for quite a long time, but hope to build my range up once more, and to get to know more about the amazing crafts people listing here!
Hi. I am melissa, I make porcelain home decor and accessories in Cornwall - Although I am not new I have not been on folksy for quite some time, but will be updating my shop and spending more time here now!
Hi my name is Jon and I’m new to folksy, I started my account about a month ago so I’m really just learning how to use the site but I have made a couple of sales already. I am an illustrator/printmaker who studied graphic design at university in Northampton and worked as in-house designer at a local essex company for 10 years but left that a year ago to be a carer for my mum. Please take a look at my shop and give me any tips! I look forward to getting to know my way around better and making some new friends.
Jon
Just popping in quickly to welcome new folks to Folksy & the forums
