Mine was this tree pendant on 10/09/2008 I remember when I joined Folksy, I only listed a few things, kind of forgot about my shop until 2010…then started to make a real go of it! I don’t actually remember making any sales in the early days but it looks like I did…lol!
17th July 2009, within a month of joining, which encouraged me. Can’t believe I only asked £8.50 for it, though! I was just trying to sell some things that hadn’t sold at craft fairs, because I couldn’t face doing it any more… I’ve had a few good years on here, but the last couple haven’t been great…
Mine was a pair of these, they were my first listing, and they sold before I got to see them in my shop, I thought I’d done something wrong as the shop stayed empty, then the email came through.
That was in April 2010
This was my very first FOLKSY sale 5/5/2009.
Paid by Echeque.
I’ve been trying very hard to find the emails from when I joined Folksy sometime in April 2009 but I’ve changed computers twice since as well as email software and email address.
@folksycontent are you able to give me the date I joined Folksy so I can have a 10th birthday ?
My first sale was this patchwork tea cosy which was also my first international sale on Folksy as it went to France! I sold it in July 2017, I had opened my shop 3 months earlier.
That is so cute! Were you here right at the very start?
Love that! My pricing was way too low in the beginning!
Wow! Love a quick sale though!
Cheeky frog!
@Zoknitandsew Love the colours! Do you remember the first sale feeling?
@KBCreations So cute Kim - 5 days is pretty quick for a first sale! Brilliant!
This first sale came through as an Echeque so I then had to wait a few days until
actually got money
Oh no!! (why does it have to be 10 characters to post!!)
This was the very first doll I made and sold in June 2010, six days after I joined Folksy - my dolls have changed so much over the 9 years I’ve been on here - I’ve learned such a lot and my doll making skills have improved so much. I love being on Folksy - it’s such a lovely community. I wonder who has been on here the longest.
Awww! Sweet! We still have our little mouse & the odd sock book you wrote <3
Do you? My things have changed so much over the years. I often wonder if people have still got them. I’m so grateful to Folksy for giving me the opportunity to set up my little craft business. I love it so much on here.
To be fair my Daughter parts with nothing but it is still alive and well on her top shelf with 3 gazillion other cuddlies
My first sale was for 2 X bunny coat hangers, one with a blue and one with a pink bow tie, in 2015, about 2 months after opening. I have always made these bunnies, it started for my children, and probably always will !!
AND still now, every time those 2 emails come through, my heart has a little flutter!! Long may it last.
My first sale on my old shop was this artwork, fully framed. I had called it ‘Peacocks’ as it reminded me of peacock feathers, even though the colours weren’t turquoise.
My first sale on my new ~(and current~) shop was this:
So on both occasions they were original artworks, which is unusual as I don’t sell many artworks online, I mostly just sell cards now through Folksy!
