What's for tea/dinner/supper tonight?

We’re having slow cooked veggie tikka, the base is from a jar and I’ve added carrot, potato, spring greens and a red bell pepper.

How about you, what are you having tonight?

It will be haddock. I know this as we haven’t had fish for at least 3 days and if I ask Bob what he would like for dinner he will say fish.

I will ask him in a minute and can guarantee the answer.

I coat the haddock in seasoned flour, fry in a bit of butter and then swish some lemon juice in the remaining butter and brown before pouring over the fish.

I love cooking threads
I have some beef ribs which I will slow cook with lentils, barley and veg with probably some middle eastern spices.

Tonight its the best sort of meal - whatever my other half cooks whilst I’m out (yoga). Normally baked spuds with some sort of spicy bean concoction but I’ve seen some pasta bake come out of the freezer…

Mine will be baked salmon with brocolli, baby corn, garlic, root ginger, chilli, coriander, lime and soy wrapped in pak choi.

I think there might be rather a lot of us going round to Susannah’s tonight although Annie’s slow cooked beef ribs sounds good and warming as well.

Oh this is making me so hungry! Ours will be something to go with the wholemeal bread I’m making (I say ‘I’ but I really mean the breadmaker!) Now I’m off to raid the biscuit tin on my way to check out what’s in the freezer!!

Yum - lots of lovely meals being planned. I’m in awe of all you domestic Goddesses! I don’t do kitchens - I loathe cooking. Luckily my hubby loves cooking. Dinner tonight will be whatever he decides to cook (and a surprise for me).

Never can plan exactly what I’m going to be eating as it is usually vetoed in favour of something else by my daughter but at the moment the plan is for pork spare ribs but we shall see!

Going to make a lovely lasagna tonight and I already can’t wait to eat it.

Haha yeah that would annoy me. Fortunately for me there’s just me and my husband and as I plan all the meals he has no choice. Haha although- I do take into account his favourites and when making the shopping list ask if there’s anything he may want during the week- then there can’t be any complaints. Haha

Does anyone else use the BBC good food website? I’ve had a binder on their for years now and love it! I use recipes from there all the time and 99% of them are yummy and super easy to follow!

Our menu would be much more boring without the good food site

We are going to a chef’s cookery demo and then you get to eat the food after! I think it’s curry tonight.

Having eaten and drunk far too much over the Christmas holidays, I had planned to start eating healthily again in the New Year, but then it didn’t happen, because we were still finishing off leftover cakes, crisps, chocolates etc. However, since the weekend I’ve been back to a healthy diet and feel so much better for it! Last night I made Garlic Mushroom and Herb Soup, and tonight I’m making a Veggie Thai Curry. I have hundreds of recipes saved onto boards on Pinterest, and I’m gradually working my way through them! :yum:

Haha it’s great isn’t it? Apparently the average British person cooks no more than 7 different recipes on a regular basis. I’d be bored out of my mind!! Haha

I also buy the sainsburys magazine because I love a lot of the recipes in there too- and they are pretty seasonal too which is always nice, and means I’m not eating the same things all year.

I’m not actually a fan at all of ‘British’ food. I find it really stodgy and tasteless. I also don’t eat red meat, only chicken and fish and I’m not a fan of potatoes or bread. I also love Asian flavours and like fairly spicy food- Thai and Vietnamese is my favourite.

I’m cooking beef stew and dumplings for tea tonight seeing as it is so cold and dark here in Yorkshire.
