Are your sales picking up?

Hooray!! I just had a sale too!!

My customer said she couldn’t register, kept coming up with an error message so she bought unregistered…so I won’t get feedback.

Oh that’s great news. @dottiedesigns and @KBCreations

It might be that early C… word shoppers are a bit later this year because of the lovely warm weather but now it’s gone a lot chillier at night they start to feel more pre-festive…
I’ve certainly been making some C…word (sorry can’t say it until November  ) sales since I got back from my hols.
.

And… I have an autumn Fair on Tuesday - mix of Country Markets and Staffordshire WI - there are 4 events a year and I do them all at Stafford Showground as I’m a member of both…
…I am expecting to be selling Stars and Angels. Nothing to do with C…word of course

PS Sorry I was mid-edit - couldn’t at first pick up the KBcreations link. Done now. !

My sales are doing ok. I had a terrible few months from May - September where I think I only sold one or two things each month, but it seems to be picking up now. I can’t say that I’ve personally noticed the front page changes affecting me, most of my views come direct from within folksy, so maybe via the search function? The rest of my views are mainly from google searches with a few via facebook and the odd one via pinterest. Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from doing amazingly and I doubt I will ever make the bestseller list, but things have been worse and I’m just glad Christmas is approaching and more people will be browsing now.

I had just 2 sales on here in Sept and none this month so far, so definitely not picking up for me yet! But I do have 3 big Christmas fairs coming up over the next 6 weeks which I’m quite optimistic about, so not too worried. The only downside is that I’ll have to shut my shop those weekends, as much of my stock will be going to the fairs, but there’s more chance of selling it at the fairs than on here

When I was using Folksy on my phone earlier I realised that I didn’t have to keep signing in. Now that is excellent news. Same on my husband’s Hudl tablet (I just set him an icon up as I thought he ought to be able to see my shop !).
All i need to do on either of these is click the icon for my shop and I’m fully in there, all signed in And… bonus,… when i see the Folksy front screen it is all dynamic and interesting …and not the not-signed in version which I find exceedingly boring.

As a matter of interest, the Front page set of pictures which I see on my pc, laptop and Bob’s Hudl is 13 on all of these with the same breakdown as above.
On my phone there are only 11 which means I don’t get “Newly listed” and I only get 5 not 6 Folksy favourites.
Not of any importance but I just wondered what our customers see on their different devices and now I know.

What i don’t know and would love an answer please @sianfolksy is why on my pc / laptop I am now having to sign in every time I go into Folksy and please please will you fix it so I don’t have to.

I don’t know if it helps at all, but I have Folksy open in 2 browsers (so I can be both shops at once) on my laptop and I find that I have to sign in far more often on the Firefox session than I do on the Chrome.

I wondered about that. I use Chrome and iI always have to sign back in if I close Folksy.

Are sales picking up?
For the second time this week I’ve signed into Folksy to see one of my items ‘‘being bought now’’ only to find neither actually made it through the checkout!

And I’m wondering how many times this happens with other sellers?

Well I’ve yet to see one of my items either ‘being bought now’ or ‘sold’, so you’re ahead of me!

It would be quite nice to think something was at least being put in a basket…

…even if it is being removed before payment

It’s happened to us too, on more than one occasion.
Have noticed (in the art section) that it happens all the time to lots of items which never reach it to having been sold. Have even taken to checking up in the actual shops and no sales have happened. Most peculiar?

No, I think people just collect items they like the look of in their basket as they browse and then make a choice at the end - I do it on some sites too. It’s just an easy way to shop.

My views graph started relentlessly going down at exactly the same spot it started going up last year- it’s sort of done the splits at, I reckon, about the time they changed the front page…

After having a lull I have had a couple of orders in the last few days - and I saw one of them saying “being bought now” - I was a bit sceptical but it did sell. I agree with you about the signing in @JOYSofGLASS

I’m not on here to sell, I am just on here to give Folksy my plus account fee, and to fill the categories a bit. It sounds as if I am not alone. (I am just being facetious, well at least trying). Marg. x

I’m feeling a bit like that too Marg.

Im really frustrated - It’s hard work - promoting and marketing and no return on investment - money or time !!! And I’m selling ok other places !!! I just can’t figure it out although when I look at the home page and it says 150 or even 350 people are currently using this site then I think that might be it !!! We need thousands of people to be viewing and shopping here - all the time !!!

Kim, facebook used to automatically show a picture of your folksy items, but I noticed this last few days that it doesn’t…not sure why…so NOW I show a picture from my pc and then add my folksy shop link…I think facebook want us all to sell using Shopify and are trying to scupper our links !

Ha ha…I just went to look at my recent views and it looked like a “last heart beat and then flatlining!”…lol

Thanks Brenda, that is what I have started doing now and it will be interesting to see if it makes any difference.
I did get a sale on Sunday, but that was from a photo I posted on a forum I belong to…not Facebook, Twitter or even someone browsing here.
