Art Chat March 2015

Thanks Hazel  the painting is 4 x 6 inches, mounted it is 6 x 8 inches.

well done Pam…sorted !! (and lovely work of course)
Stephie, that is very pretty, love the colours…
I have been painting some more cartoon cards to put in my shop…I might as well make the most of the PLUS account !!..I want to fully stock the shop if I can
Back after the painting programme…don’t forget it
Margaret…how did the painting lesson go?

That’s a nice size Stephie. I thought it was bigger. Don’t know why ? But it’s really lovely

Waving Brenda … I’m not watching the painting challenge. Gave up on it after the first two - not a big fan of these type of competitive / critic tv shows … Other than the bake off of course - paul and mary are such fun

I’ll definitely be watching the Big Painting Challenge, although probably tomorrow on catch-up as I like to be able to pause and take breaks from the negativity of the judges. I think all the contestants are super talented.

Margaret @Louisa15 how was your workshop yesterday? Hope all is well and your internet is behaving itself again.

Sorry all, I was very tired after yesterday’s workshop and have been busy somehow all day. The tutor, Rachel McNaughton was excellent, but she didn’t seem keen on my love for vibrant colour. Still, this is what I painted:

She said the flowers in the background looked more like lupins than delphiniums, so I told her it was a mixed border
The workshop itself was very friendly and fun, but for some reason I felt exhausted afterwards, though I did have a 26 mile motorway journey each way to get there which added to the fatigue.

Well done Pam for getting your pictures to show here and Stephie I LOVE those bluebells

I won’t give away who left the painting challenge but the judges seemed to be a lot kinder this week…they would destroy me with their criticisms,…lol
I painted another cartoon greetings card this afternoon because I want to get the choice of a few in my shop…so here it is…(NOT a self portrait I hasten to add…lol)

crossed posts Margaret…that is stunning…gosh I sometimes wish these teachers thought before they spoke…I think your painting is beautiful…

Gorgeous mixed border Margaret. Criticism is useless unless it comes with advice on how to improve it - I think your reply was fabulous, well done you

Brenda that belly dancer is wonderful, I love the bling! You’ve done really well to get the gold to shine in your photo.

It is wonderful painting Margaret

Thanks all!

I do both Stephanie. I prefer to just slosh the paint on and then use gouache but i do use masking fluid on some areas.

Good morning waving hi to everyone, beautiful painting Margaret, I love the colours too :). That’s fab Brenda, I had a go at belly dancing once upon a time, great fun but thankfully I’ve no pictures lol!

Good Morning All

Nice blue skies here so I’ve been taking photos early and now listed some of my new paintings …

Pretty Blue Hydrangea …
I am not backing my pieces as much now makes them more affordable for the buyer, but I am happy to supply them in a mount or backed for an additional cost on request …

Lovely hydrangea Hazel, much softer colours than I’m used to from you but it looks beautiful!

Morning all…
Max, shame you have no belly dancing pictures. …waving…
waving Margaret, Pam and Hazel too…
Lovely vivid flowers Hazel…it is a shame that encaustics make such a mess on the back of the card but I agree, mounting them adds to the expense and weight when you post them
Waving Stephie…
Morning to anyone else I have missed.
I’ll be back later with more listings…I’ll try not to share too many…could get boring…

listing number 1 (for today)
