Art Chat - May

Thanks all, and yes the water is back on. It’s a bit scary without it for a few hours!
Love the leaf, and Kelly’s lovely abstract.

just popping in before I go offline.
Hope you all have a good weekend…see you in the morning…
I have been trying out more one stroke painting…found some lovely demos on youtube…a lot of them are painted on nails which are beautiful but as nails?..mmm…nooooo. I like my long nails but the ones on you tube are huge and to me look ugly…worth watching the demos though. I still have a lot to learn. The techniques are quite easy to learn , what I am hopeless at is composition…then I go and keep adding, fussing and making my work too clumsy and cluttered…lol…
The pic of the 7x5 acrylic is on fb at the moment but will hopefully be listed on Folksy next week.

Hello everyone.

Happy belated birthday wishes Margaret @Louisa15 hope you had cake

I’ve had a very busy week lots of sales on the art front and a new client on the web consultancy front so lots going on.

I need to find out when my plus account comes to an end - it must be soon !!! I won’t be renewing. I was on the best sellers list last year but with the all the @folksycontent1 folksy changes my sales are almost non existent here !!! And it is very odd I market all my outlets with the same enthusiasm, my shop is well stocked and I’m seller more than ever everywhere else - so something isn’t working for me here. And after my account ends and the stock expires I’ll be moving on. With great sadness as folksy was where selling online started for me.

How’s it going for you all here compared to your other outlets ? Do you sell to your regulars or do you get totally new sales here?

Hazel

Good morning everyone, happy Saturday hope you all have plans for something enjoyable this weekend, I’m painting today whoo need to re-stock my ACEO’s both sides :).

Hazel @HazelRayfield, mine are around 80% new 20% regulars on here and over there, ACEO’s have been busy for me the past few weeks after not selling many for a while sold 9 last weekend, 4 from here and 5 over there, though I do tend to sell more ACEO’s over there than here but rarely promote over there so can only guess that the search is maybe better over there

Great to hear you are selling well Max. I’m having my best year ever, but just can’t get folksy working for me !!!

I do think the search is good over there I sell world wide more too and here not many international sales nowadays !!

First little biridie is done, thought you might like to see as a progression

Morning all…hope everyone has a good weekend and Margaret I hope you had a lovely day.
Max, your birds are stunning and I love the backgrounds too…
I am still learning the one stroke painting and have just listed yesterday’s effort.
.

Hazel I have found much the same here. I didn’t renew Folksy plus and have let everything expire. I might put a small number of things in my shop as the Folksy addy is on one batch of business cards.
Margaret did you have a nice birthday? Did the tulips come up?
Nice birdies Max.
That is a pretty one Brenda.
Just finished a painting and blogged about if here if you would like to have a look. http://colours-textures.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/i-have-just-finished-this-today.html

Thanks Tessa  I will need to adjust a few things as a lot of my website and blog links go here. It will be a few months before I disappear from here but I can’t keep on listing and marketing and not seeing results.

Glad you had a nice cream tea Margaret

It has been a beautiful day here and a lovely lady is taking a few of my aceos on a touring exhibition for me…how kind is that. Even if it doesn’t reap any sales, it is extremely kind of her to do this for me. People can be SO nice.
I am loving the plus account and I have already sold enough aceos to pay for this year’s fees…so now, anything between now and next March is clear profit. I actually think that it is a case of daily listing, as when I did daily listing last year, I found my sales increased…now I am listing 2 a day. I almost scared myself yesterday…I list 14 a week on here…8 a week over the bay and 5 a week across the pond…so that is 27 a week…mmm…good job I paint fast !!! Mind you some get ploughed back into the system when they don’t sell. So far this year, I have PAINTED 403 items !!!..better get more painting done then…lol

Max and Brenda it’s so good to hear that the plus account works for you too.

I’m really pleased with mine. I’m very happy with just the one store, I can’t cope with maintaining several. I do have artfinder still which I need to do more with, but the majority of my art is kept here.

I haven’t analyzed the split between new and returning customers but I do know that they mostly come from fb.

Where will your work be touring Brenda? Exciting times!

This is a new aceo, hopefully the oblique angle shows the texture created by the silver cerne relief outliner

Wow that’s a lot of paintings. Well done on all the sales. I can’t paint that many. I did do the daily list one month but struggled to do 30 listings !!!

I love to paint and have painted a lot recently my new miniatures are being extremely well received and commission are up but not here !!! Why I really don’t know :frowning:

Good to hear of others success though.

Very pretty Stephie
