I think you might be right Helen.
I’ve just checked my expired items list and compared with the ‘sold’ items and it does seem that anything expired does not have a price, but if I’ve kept the listing renewed because I’ve made more, then the price is showing.
Yes I think your’re right too! Thanks for clearing that up - so it looks like if I reuse a listing and change the price, then it will change against the sold items - which is fine for me.
Mine does and always has done.
Looking at older ones though the price isn’t there so I think it’s like Helen @PocketfulCreations says, once the listing expires then the price disappears. My listing for the headband doesn’t expire till 26th June even though its showing as sold and none in stock.
being able to do a search within my listings to make it easier when i need to update a few specific products
It would be so handy to be able to select what items you want and edit them all at the same time
Could the theme of the day be limited to say 5 items per shop. Sometimes just seems to be one or two shops.
I think I suggested this a while ago when we were having a big discussion about theme of the day. It’s one of the drawbacks of the theme of the day tag system because some shops may have many many items legitimately tagged for the theme. These then seem usually to be listed one after the other, which, in my opinion detracts from the look of the theme of the day page. I think it would be very reasonable to limit to 5 items. @Caroleecrafts
Perhaps the themed tags need to be more specific. Sometimes they are just one or two words which might fall by default into hundreds of descriptions.
I very rarely have items that fit the themes, luck if I get 1 or two a month (obviously I always can do the my favourite piece)
I think if there was one thing that i would change it would be the homepage:-
Theme of the day
-tenuous links to theme
-lack of curation
-quality of photos ( these are the very first items a potential buyer will see when visiting Folksy so photographs need to be of good quality.)
Video
-could this be changed more regularly perhaps -?
-takes up a large proportion of homepage when viewing on desktop
Top sellers
-if we have top sellers list then gives less opportunity for other sellers
Search box
-Not obvious you can toggle between ‘shops’ and ‘items’ - i don’t think you would realise this at all if visiting the site.
Additionally
Would the 'Home of British Crafts’ section currently at the bottom of the homepage be better nearer the top to explain what Folksy is ?
Better, more accurate and specific search ability - I’ve just tried to search for ‘wedding sign’ and anything and everything with the word ‘sign’ is found - very unhelpful!
Have to say I agree about the video plonked right in the middle of the homepage - it’s massive!
Plus the last time I looked the animator no longer had an open shop!
It’s ever so sweet though so maybe Folksy could commission them to make an updated version?
Agree - it does look a bit large.
(the animator has shop now)

Because of the large increase by RM to postage rates, now more than ever we need to have an option of first and second class, so the customer can choose. These latest increases are not a few pence so now have to make the decision to offer second class only but some buyers would like to have the first class option.
Also an option to offer no charge for postage on an order say over £25
I agree about the first and second class post idea. Also think the free postage thing is a great idea, I’m going to have to put postage on my uk stuff now, been doing it for free but will have to charge maybe £2 now.
I think the favourites showcase needs an overhaul. When I look at what’s there the same stuff turns up time and time again, great for the shops that happens to, but not so good for the rest of us.
Hi, I’ve been selling Pet Accessories since 2018 - that’s a good 4yrs now & sold under 10 items in that time. Why? Because when I key in 'Dog Jackets/Dog Coats in the search, what comes up first/top of the search page? Men’s Waistcoat! There’s my answer for only a few sales. Now, I’m a qualified copywriter and know how important SEO, Tags etc are and have made sure my tags are relevant to my listings. Another example, I keyed in ‘Pet Beds’ in the search and up came ‘Linocut Prints’! These don’t look like pet beds to me! With examples like this, can customers really find what they’re looking for? Is anyone else having a similar experience? When adding new listings to my shop, I often check in the search to see how far down my new listing is rated.
Hi Liz,
This is exactly the problem I’ve experienced and took it up with Folksy. I’ve worked really hard on tags (as they suggested) but despite researching and adding in all the relevant tags (extensive,y asked friends etc) it is super hard still to find some of my items.
Folksy advised me that they were aware of the inaccuracy of their search engine, but as a small team they didn’t have the resources to change the whole system.
It’s so frustrating as pitiful footfall on Folksy (most people not heard of it) and whilst I love the user friendly shop and point of sale, in my experience there just isn’t the traffic needed to be able to sell well.
Bottom line if they don’t invest in promoting Folksy (the sellers deserve as there is so much talent on here) and improve their algorithm I don’t see things improving.

Hi Liz
Was wondering if you had SM set up as you haven’t had many sales but see you have But… did you check your FB link. It doesn’t work for me… shows as https://www.facebook.com/Handcrafts4Pets xx
@forgetmenotcraftsanddesign It sounds like there may have been a little misunderstanding. It’s not that we’re not fixing the search issues, but because this requires some major changes to the system and we are only a small team, it takes time to do this. The search is currently being worked on and we hope to announce more about this soon.
