Broken stats?

I can get stats for the last month and the last 7 days, but nothing for the last 24 hours.

@Bimblebird that’s why I started this thread…I have been having this problem for ages & so have some other sellers. Most of my views are for items that sold out months/years ago. I have viewed items myself, got others to view items but the next day they don’t show as being viewed. Even items that I have sold, which the customer has to view in order to buy, don’t show the next day on viewed items. There is definately a problem but Folksy can’t seem to sort it…

Yes, I have looked back at the forums and this has been mentioned a few times. I am beginning to think I might not bother with stats any more - they don’t seem to be very helpful.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yes, they used to be helpful in showing what items people were looking at, and if my social media promotion was working and getting people looking at my makes, but now it tells me nothing at all…just makes me depressed thinking no one is looking at my stuff even though I know they are.

I find them useful on the ‘other’ place as they show trends/comparisons, and they also don’t seem to ‘fluff up’ as frequently!:smile:

I gave up on stats. months (maybe longer!) ago, because my views don’t work, @dougfolksy

Yep ditto!

If you haven’t deleted your sold items then any external links to that item will still work so eg if you pinned it and someone (or a search engine indexing bot) finds it on pinterest and follows the link they will be taken to a sold out item page. So it’s not necessarily that odd to get views on old/ sold out items.

My stats have been total zeros for several days now… it’s really frustrating , and previously Ive been having days too when my views have been of really old expired or sold items which slightly freaks me TBH WHY !

As I explained to bimble bird in the post above yours - if an old sold out or expired item has been posted on social media (especially pinterest) then the link to that item will remain active until the listing is deleted. (If the post is clicked on it will take the person to a sold out/ item unavailable page in your shop, if the listing has been delete they get a 404 page can’t be found error message). I have had people contact me saying ‘spotted this on pinterest but its sold out, could you make another?’ so it is worth not deleting those old/ expired/ sold out listings and just learning to live with views on them. (NB it doesn’t need to be you who posted it on social media it just needs to link from social media to your shop)
Sporadically search algorithm indexing bots will crawl the internet cataloguing new pages and checking old links which can lead to views on old/ sold out/ expired items but this is a good thing as it can help with getting found via things like google searches.

I have a call outstanding with support on the issue of only old sold and expired items showing in stats, to try and find out why no current ones are showing, even ones I know I have viewed myself to amend.

I’ll be interested to see what the result is , because I have found the same problem, old stuff showing, none of the new, and like you point out , not even items that I have visited in the shop myself! also frustrating where now even if you do get say 5 views , they will only show 1 item visible. I used to enjoy looking at what people had been looking at in my shop even if I had no sales but now it makes me cross looking!

Just wondered has this been looked at @dougfolksy @Folksyadmin ??

I know in the grand scheme of things this is not crucial, but I consistently have no views, when I know people have visited my shop, and viewed my items, some even to test it for me! Yesterday being one of those, sat next to my daughter doing it, but again no views today!
It’s really disheartening!
Is it just me? Has everyone else’s got sorted?

It’s not just you…mine is the same…

Mine’s been the same for months. I’d given up caring until I saw others complaining.

I have just had a reply from Folksy Support to advise that my statistics have refreshed and are now showing correctly. My views show the new item I added yesterday, and one other item, again an old sold item. I’ll be monitoring again for a few days.

@MuddMade Mine have been OK for the last couple of days, but how accurate they are I don’t know. As far as I know the Folksy stats include the seller’s visits to their own pages, which tends to confuse things. I tend to use Google analytics for a better grasp of who is looking at what.

Thanks Kim  disheartening isn’t it… hopefully it will get fixed soon!

I was like that @XStitcherJoss, thinking well I have been slack at promoting so I mustn’t be getting any views, but then sold an item and still no views, so got family to test for me!
Hopefully they will see to it soon!

Oh that’s good to know @SimplyEarringsArran thank you!
Hope we all get fixed soon!
