Christmas Market 2023 & Last-minute shopping event in December

Make sure you’re just downloading the specific template image you need and not the entire set that includes the baubles, as there’s an issue with those images at the moment that needs fixing before they’re downloadable to everyone.
To do that, when you get to the page with the download options, click select pages > unselect the top tick box for ‘all pages’ > select whichever page number the image you’ve edited is > click done > click download.

I worked around my problem by lifting the relevant images from other emails from Folksy so I have been able to post a collage over the weekend and prepare another to go out tomorrow.

Apart from HQ and the regional Folksy pages, I’m not seeing much so far on the socials for the event next weekend. I’ve just got around to making my first posts on my own socials about my own makes and the event generally, so also followed the tags on Instagram and saw that there’s not much there yet from makers.

Just wondering if everyone is planning to do some marketing of their own this week and if maybe one approach might be to leave your ‘launch’ to the last minute?

Wondering what we can all do to promote it a bit more as it seems like a great opportunity for us all…

From what I’ve seen on socials a lot of people (myself included) are doing actual markets this weekend. My items are one offs so I don’t want to go plugging an online event happening at the same time as a physical event, depending on how busy the physical event gets I might have to put my folksy shop in holiday mode. Once I get home on saturday I’ll end up doing a mass tagging session and some social posts.

Ah, that makes sense. I don’t think about in person events because I don’t do them myself. From what I’ve been seeing over the last few weeks, they seem to be going great, so handmade will still be winning!

Hi Ruth, thank you! I also managed to delete the offending bauble shape and replace with a simple circle and fix the watermark. All the best with Craftmas!

If it helps, I am REALLY behind, and this weekend has REALLY crept up on me and now I am staring at my tablet with eleventy billion photos to edit and list and well, yeah

Also I forgot to add the tag I think on my posts!

I feel you! I’ve spent so many hours over the last few weeks getting everything ready and I really don’t understand WHY it’s taken me so long!

Love your gorgeous texture pieces - hope the tedious listing process is soon behind you :two_hearts:

So all the lovely Folksy sellers are busy prepping and tagging their photos and getting ready for the weekend event.
I am wondering though when the posters will be going up to advertise it ?. Just had a look and the latest post I can find on Folksy SM about it is from the13th ??
I always find when I do an event that the amount of footfall is directly proportional to the amount of pre advertising…
Maybe I am missing something and hopefully someone will correct me

Just a reminder that the market is this weekend but our newsletter subscribers get a first look tomorrow, so if you have your pieces listed there’s an opportunity to get in front of 56k people who love art and craft!

We’ve updated the Canva templates now so hopefully none of the graphics have watermarks on them anymore (except the last three). I’m so sorry about that. We’ve also popped some new ones in there that you can use to promote the event beforehand and during. I’ll drop those in here too

There will be a banner on the homepage from Saturday morning which links through the page so customers will easily be able to find and shop the market.

If you have any questions, please do ask.

I’m also having this problem. When I put the small badges ‘one of a kind’ etc. on my photos it wants to charge me.

I have tried to only download the one I want, not the others but it still won’t do it. I’m not tech savvy so this is turning into an impossible chore for me!

Impossible task for me too and I’ve spent far too much time on this already today as keep going back to see if it’s changed. Why am I also being asked to pay? Can’t use bauble pics to advertise on my social media and can’t use the small badges ‘free p&p’ etc either to add to my listing.

I had problems yesterday, but if you click on download with watermarks instead of try canva pro for free, it downloads the picture still get it downloading other photos but i just delete the photos i dont need in gallery

Thanks Valerie @jenniesgems but still wants to charge me. I’ve got the free canva and I’ve used Folksy templates so many times before without issue but not this time.

Can you try downloading again now @thestitchyroom @mayberry - all the graphics with watermarks should be removed now? I’m so sorry for the hassle. Canva doesn’t show us which graphics or fonts are premium so we can’t easily see which ones we need to change.

@mayberry There shouldn’t be any issue with the images with badges as long as you only have that image selected, it’s only the last three bauble images that have any premium content, and I’ve been able to download the others with no issue with a free account.

For anyone not sure of the steps, this video shows how to make sure you only have the required image selected - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1uocrfAnGo

@thestitchyroom The bauble images have all been posted in this thread too so if you’re not able to save them from Canva you can just save them from here.

I’ve just downloaded another picture and it still says contains premium content but if I click on download with watermarks it does download i only have the free canva
