Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice about my shop name ToffeekatKrafts. I’m thinking of dropping the ‘Krafts’ part to shorten it to ‘Toffeekat’ or ToffeeCat’. I chose the name originally for sentimental reasons. I had the most wonderful cat called Toffee, he died six years ago at age 17 and to this day I miss him. I still have two lovely cats. When I chose the name my son said “Everyone will know you have cats” like it was a bad thing and him saying that has bugged me ever since. Do you think having ‘cat’ or ‘Kat’ in my shop name will put off buyers, or doesn’t sound professional? do you think I should think of a completely different name? I am beginning to niche down to making crochet and knit headbands, hats etc and want to get tags to sew onto them so I need to get the name right, I can’t afford to get it wrong and buy again. Thank you in advance for any advice
I love ToffeeCat. Pets always stay in our hearts.
I would say maybe ToffeeKat as if you use cat, like your son said, people will know you have cats. This could put some people off buying from you if they have severe allergies towards cats. x
I love the name ToffeeKat!
Thank you that’s great, so you don’t think I need a complete name change because I’d really struggle to think of one
Thank you
Thank you, he was special
When I saw Toffeekat, my first thought was that your own name was Kat. I think if it was a C and not a K, it might restrict your market a bit.
@toffeekatKrafts
No I think the name is lovely. x
(I know what you mean about trying to think up a name! Many days of brainstorming and pages of crossed out ideas, then hoping the one you pick is not too similar to another shop name and then a few more day procrastinating and self doubt
)
Thanks again, I did think TK Designs but it’s a bit like TK Max sort of
Thank you No ToffeeDawn doesn’t sound right
I think I’m going to go for ToffeeKat, I just can’t think of anything else
I’d associate ToffeeKat with sweets and toffies. Not gifts. That’s what I’d expect to see when I clicked on your shop, or if I found it on Google. I think when you sell more than one style of item, it needs a title that reflects that.
One of shops I have on here is named after my dog, Loki. We used to call him Loki Bear. I sold crochet and knits, so called the shop Loki Bear Knitwear. That way folks knew exactly what I was selling.
How about something like ToffeeKatEmporium? I love that word, Emporium. It hints at hidden goodies and lots of exiting finds.
Thank you, Emporium is a lovely word, I’m in the process of just making and selling knitted and crochet items,( it’s too expensive to buy the fabric and other materials needed to make the other things in my shop and just sell the odd thing) ToffeekatKnits or Toffeekat Designs I’ll have to think, I think I’m overthinking
You’ve got some beautiful glass items in your shop
ToffeeKatKnits has a good ring to it.
Thanks
Brilliant name - with names though I always think keep it simple so anyone searching for you is likely to get the name right and type it in a search bar correctly. For me ToffeeCat seems the best combination.
Thank you love the name of your shop It’s cute and memorable
I just LOVE the name…and I think I might leave off the Krafts ( reminds me of cheese triangles) but that is just MY thoughts.
I am “teabreaks”…and there are stories behind that too.
People recognize me by that name…x
