Weekly Art Chat Thread W/C 28th April

Thank you Tessa

Waving Brenda

Hi Jeanie - Listing an item in your shop is as easy as before, not a lot has changed when listing an item, but now once it’s listed you can organise it in sections easier.

Just look at the dashboard and do some collections and shop keeping to arrange things how you want them

Hope this helps

Hazel

Hi Lorna great painting love the little bird on Chester

Glad you got it listed OK Jeanie it is a lovely picture - nice new beach scenes from you Stephie

I’m having a very productive day, lots done online, I’ve been listing and promoting in and between my web work, now having a break and a coffee before I think about what’s next on the todo list … I might need to play hooky from work tomorrow need a painting fix lol I’m sure the boss won’t mind

Home again, and I finally have some time to stop and partake in one of my favourite activities…chatting! Off to get a brew, back shortly

Lovely purples Brenda - I bet you have every purple paint under the sun lol

Pretty butterfly Max, the textures are always lovely on your ink art.

Hazel I do like you monochromes. Don’t think you’d be too pleased if the new forum took an iron to your encaustics haha. The person under the tree has really improved your mountain painting, the tree looks like it belongs there now, and it gives a point of interest too.

Trevor that clock tower looks like a rocket, I bet the designers had fun with that one! Nice lorries - one day I’ll get my trucker licence, it’s long been a dream of mine to be able to drive one.

Lorna I really like your quirky pet portrait, I’d never have though of putting a bird on a dogs head.

Pretty dolls house painting Jeanie, glad you got the listing thing sorted.

Hazel I except you to give yourself a good telling off when you get back to work after going awol :smirk:

I met my robin commission client today, she was highly delighted with her framed painting - phew!

Lol … You are not wrong Stephie lol but got to keep the work force happy and I do miss painting if I’m away from it too long

Good your commission was well received

Jeanie in relation to being found in search more easily I would add the word flowers to your title, so ā€˜miniature dolls house watercolour painting, collectors art Foxglove flowers’.
It’s best to have all key words people would search for in the title

Great work everyone.

I’ve started a caption competition on my blog. Looking for artwork to include, which may have a good caption already or you’re happy for inspiration. Would love to feature some of your work but caption entries are good too!
Here is the link .http://annabelsglassdesigns.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/caption-competition/

The trouble with only coming on here in the evenings is that there is sooooo much to comment on!

Waving Hi to Lorna, lovely to have you on the thread.

My fave today has to be that village scene of Trevors.

Off to have tea in a mo but wanted to have a nosey at what you’ve all been up to

Why, thank you Margaret, I’m touched…!

Thank you! I will try to add the word ’ flower ’ if there is room . lol x x

Trevor…being touched and knowing your humour could be worrying…
Waving Margaret and everyone that I have missed…
Been busy again today and tomorrow have to go and get petrol for the car…I don’t need it but I have to cash in my Tesco discount by the end of the month, or lose it…
It has been a beautiful day here today and the squirrel has been in and out for peanuts all afternoon…
I ordered a new Terry Harrison art brush yesterday so when that comes, I hope to get cracking on some larger acrylics.
Margaret, when are you going to his workshop? Is it for acrylics or watercolours?
I would love a lesson in both but no one seems to come to Wales…
When I lived in London, everything was more accessible…that is the ONLY downside of living here but I still wouldn’t want to go back !

It’s watercolour, the only thing I use, I haven’t time to learn about any other medium! It’s on the 15th May. Apparently he spends the first hour teaching us how to use his brushes, so I’m assuming the workshop is really an exercise in selling us his special brushes!lol

Why, whatever do you mean Brenda…?

Margaret hopefully he’ll give you the opportunity to try out his brushes before you commit to buying any - otherwise it’s manipulative selling as he is going to be fab whatever brush he picks up. If he doesn’t offer the chance to try before you buy, ask if you can borrow whichever brush you’re interested in for 10 mins or so to see if you get on with them.

Stephie, on this workshop all materials are supplied so I think I’ll be painting with his brushes so I will have a chance to paint with them.

That’s good! Take some of your own brushes too so that you can try his techniques with your brushes too. Sometimes these specialist brushes are good and sometimes they’re just a gimmick - if you try yours and his side by side you’ll be able to see for yourself.

Great idea! I’ll do that
